Those Fiat bikes look ugly. The guy who does all those hypothetical designs does great work, but I hope the advertisers could make a better paint job if Fiat jump aboard. (Which they won't, because MCN said they will.)
As far as ferrari goes, well they already have a strong relationship with another motoGP team- Ducati Corse. That could present problems.

It's an Italian nationalist's wk fantasy, last week they reported that Ducati were out to get Rossi for '08, mental.

Yes it was a Russian

I don't think that's gonna happen.

First, Yamaha has very strong ties with Toyota, they have many shared projects and AFAIK Yamaha uses Toyota facilities for their MotoGP team (Wind Tunnel).

And I'm sure Toyota would not like to have FIAT written all over on their allies bikes.

Also there's not much sense in a car company sponsoring a bike one. Bikers are bikers, they're not gonna dump their bike to buy Panda just cause Rossi says so.

I think the idea is that everyone in italy will buy a Fiat because Rossi is on the adverts.

But they all have Fiats anyway, don't they?

Actually the paint job on the bike looks pretty neat, I wouldn't mind FIAT being a sponsor but it would be nice to have a better name with the Yamahas.

I can live with that, but the other Fiat paint jobs are hideous. That's got a Konica Minolta Honda look to it.

Here's how it went:

Fiat saw that Yamaha's were unreliable and had a tendency of falling apart. This fit in with their brand image, and so approached them about sponsorship.

So True!

Alfa Romeo are now sponsoring WSB & Ducati Corse (including Stoner & Loris), so I cannot believe FIAT would sponsor Yamaha! but then again they have enough brand names to go around.....

Haha, good one pete. It would be funnier, if it wasn't so painfully true. I just got back from the shop, seems my bike will be staying there a few day
