Casey stopped on cooling down lap.

casey sits aside his bike and i wonder has the new 21ltr fuel rule hit ducati for the first time this year.

assen is notorious for start/stop throttle twisting
is this the first kink in ducatis armour

i hope not

good mature race for casey

no need to take it to him afdter the pass
better 20 points than none eh

just listened to caseys interview

he was pretty sure that it did run out of fuel due to wind conditions

also nice to see he was pretty humble and dissing rossi

maybe so but your contributing to it by replying

so it must be worth it ( LOL )

casey and hayden ran out of fuel on the cool down lap,
it could be said there mechanics planned it exactly right in how much fuel to put in, if i bike finishes with to much fuel left then they were carrying to much ballast.

just trying to think if when the tank starts to get empty does it effect the throttle response and acceleration out of the turns

may have been a contributing factor though cant take anything away from rossi

i dont think casey had any problems during the race, rossi ran faster lap time all through the race working up from 10th to a convincing win.

You could look at lap times to get an idea of this. Stoner had the same lap times after as he did before he got in second. Rossi had the same lap times before as he did after he got in front. I don´t think fuel affected anyone until the race finished, and as Roger said:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Jun 30 2007, 07:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>mechanics planned it exactly right in how much fuel to put in

Anyway, Stoner held the pressure for several laps, so good on him.

thanks for that , your probably right

checked lap times and not much in it .

think rossi just had a better race set up and i aggree stoner also ran a good race.
this was the month that rossi needed to increase his points over stoner and they both got the same points in June

2 firsts a second and a fourth each.

I'm sure it will be at Laguna, people running out on the 990s without the 21 litre rule!

If Hayden ran out at Assen, what could this mean? His streak of wins at laguna seca is over?

the rule is a maximum of 21 liters of fuel, doesnt mean they will put 21 liters in if they think they can race with less. only the team will no how much fuel they put in there bikes.

do you remember a few years ago when wigy wee (aint got a clue how to spell his name right) ran out of fuel just before the finish line and had to push his bike over.
