<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (an4rew @ Oct 12 2008, 01:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Its disappointing that Kallio and Takashi are moving up when they are so far off the pace of Simoncelli & Bautista.

Don't care much about Takashi - but Kallio was contending for championship for most of the season - and not on one of the Gileras. He did exceptionally well on a relatively uncompetitive machine.

And in case you haven't noticed, this year Mika has only been beaten by one of his team mates (Aoyama and Simon) only when he hasn't finished (twice) plus last Motegi race where Simon was 4th and Kallio 5th. So well, even if he hasn't been able to match the pace of Aprilia powered Simoncelli and Bautista in the late season, he's been the best KTM rider with ease.

I really have no idea how he will do, but I'm hoping for the best for him. He's the first finn to race in the biggest class in quite a while...

I take it you are just a teeniest bit pleased with that

Great! Kallio is going to do well,i'm sure of it.Maybe Canepa too.I hope the Pramac team will solve the problems with Alice or find an additional sponsor.I would hate to see those two rookies not getting a proper chance.

In his website, Kallio said that was very happy to write this contract as the team is going to get more factory support and all the Ducati bikes will be new Desmosedici GP9 models.

He also said that he appreciated the fact that the team wanted especially him to be their rider and promised to put more effort for reaching success in future.

No matter how much talent, why the fcuk would you hire a PROFESSIONAL racer who hasen't bothered to put in full effort at reaching success?

I think the Ducati camp has picked up two good riders (Nick & Sete) and two questionable ones (Canepa & Kallio). We'll see...

Sorry for inconvenience, it was THE TEAM that promised to put effort in order for Kallio (and the other satellite ducati rider) to succeed.

I was just trying to give you a quick translation of what it said in his website.

That makes more sense. Kallio never struck me as an idler. Still think he's gotta prove he belongs though.

I would think so.

It's nice to see a rider from a small, uneventfull and irrelevant country break into the
premiere class.
Since Toseland and Colin Edwards are in the same position maybe they can show
him the ropes.

Yeah, the English version is just in and very different in many areas, Kallio's own comments are different. But you get the general idea of what he's looking for in the premier class from that too.
