Dakar is always a good watch. Those guys are real heros (except for Boarman last year..........did anyone watch the road to Dakar and just wanna punch him???? Well anyway, didn't show enough committment if you ask me, like when he couldn't even finish an enduro when he was training for the Dakar.....(I use the word training loosely). And especially pees you off when you compare him to the guys who remortgage or sell their own houses just so they can do it. Charlie got to do it for flippin free. How many people on here would jump at the chance to do the Dakar? I'm sure you'd make more of an effort lol.

I want one of the trucks to ride around in, they look mean!!

I watched one episode of that crap and wanted to punch the guy! Him and his mate Ewan on the other thing too, just a hyped up BMW advert, with two guys with too much money and time on thier hands twatting about.

I wonder if he watches it and realises what a dick he made of himself.

He couldnt clean Mick Extances or the late John Deacons boots. Never mind Peterhansel or Coma. Go back to being an actor Charlie. Oh sorry I forgot nobody knows what you ever acted in. But you do have a famous friend.

ROFL, that's pretty much what was said in our house, the moaning whinging twts, you can see why KTM pulled the bikes before they even set off lol. He obviously, didn't watch Long Way Round Back as he went ahead with Road to Dakar and made a bigger dick of himself...........Loser. And the million dollar question is........ Does anyone actually know what he acted in? lol. OR EVEN CARE?

Just going as an observer to the odd Enduro has made me realise what a pair of knobs they were, but hey ho, maybe their exploits brought a few people into the Enduro scene, who knows. What about Mondo Enduro has anyone seen that. A bit more like it me thinks lol.

But I do still fancy Ewan I have to admit, it didn't put me off him that much.

My internet conection at office was broken whole day. and this one at home is sooooo sloooooowwww. It's like someone's cut my head off. I'm so behind now.

I see that Mitsubishies are 3th and 4th now, and I think they will take over the lead soon. They're so good on dunes. nothing agains those guys, but I think it's time for somebody else to win. Go Carlos!!!

Nasty crash for Chicherit yesterday. Pitty, one of my favorites too.

Can someone, please, tell me what charlie Boorman did last year (and what is "Road to Dakar"?)? I saw in Long way round book that he was prepparing for dakar 2006, and I thought that I didn't notice him there (athough I didn't even know who he is then)

I allmost forget about this from yesterday:

Pedro Bianchi Prata gave his rear tyre to Helder Rodrigues and raced without one.

Worth to mention!!!

Sorry my mistake, Race to Dakar apparently, he didn't finish, but his mentor Pavey did. Apparently, because I am a hypocrite, I looked him up to find out what films he has been in of any consequence. He was in Deliverance 1972, because his dad directed it!!!!! No change there then, still milking the celebrity connection to this day lol. Shame though, being that Deliverance is one of my all time fave films, I now have to burn it, and I don't mean copy it. lol

Doesnt matter who it was, it'd another life lost.

Hi Pete, So true man. But it was in 03 I recall, that TT did lose one of the top guys.

I must admitt, I love to watch the Isle of Mayhem, but really, its not worth precious life. Sucks, but I'll keep watching. Like an addict.

Dead right, there is something addictive in watching guys with that compulsion to push like these guys do.

Same for the Isle of Man then. You can't ban the DAKAR and not the Isle of Man, but with the DAKAR they're all raising money so it's a good event in that respect.

Every single participant in the Dakar knows the dangers of that race, they are willing to take them, which is why they are one of the bravest sportsmen (and women) on Earth.
Making it as safe as possible without killing the soul of the race -> YES
Banning the race -> NO WAY

So only one thing left to say ....

I must say,
I've never seen competitors help each other so much
in any other sports event.
