I remember having read here several times about how the 800cc formula / control tires / 4 strokes / etc. might have contributed to increasing (or decreasing) the number of crashes in MotoGP, and one of the main complains was that there were hardly any numbers to find, as Dorna wouldn't publish them or whatsoever.
for once, crash.net came up with some useful statistic (or numbers, at least) on that matter. what really stunned me was that the average number of falls per rider per season is quite similar through all three classes, as well as the fact that the control tire rule (in the MotoGP class) resulted in a reduced number of crashes in its first year (2009 vs. 2008), although this number has massively climbed since then.
