Well I thought i'd bite the bullet and post my first debate. and the post below in the 'Will Hayden win for Ducati?' got me asking.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>"Will Hayden ever win a race for Ducati?"
Yes.
Yes in 2012 he will win win the WSBK championship for them.
In MotoGP 2009. No he won't win a race for Ducati.
Moderators, I wasn't sure if this should be in the WSBK forum but seeing as both are current MotoGP riders I thought it ok?
Ok, a lot of 'if's' here I admit. But say Stoner carries on being championship material for a good few years with Ducati, and Hayden doing whatever he does (be it winning championships, races, consistent podium finisher and good team guy or a Melandri...i'm hoping for race wins
) and if Haga does the same thing (either wins WSBK on the Ducati in '09 or 2010 and retires, or doesnt get on with it and retires etc) can anyone see Stoner or Hayden being moved to WSBK by Ducati and becoming the next Troy Bayliss? By this I mean a rider who pretty much dominates on a Ducati and stays with them their entire WSBK carrer?
I don't like to look too far into the future but think its unlikely to be Stoner with his GP breeding and performance on the Duke so far as he is liekly to be in GP for a good while yet, but if Hayden is with the team say 3-5 years (and i'm not making any assumptions yet) with either a great or average period with would he fit in well on a Ducati superbike?
Again this is all VERY speculative and as a Hayden fan I hope he has many successful years still in MotoGP with Ducati but i'd be interested on the view of the more knowledgeable forum members.
<u>Finally. #41, Pinky or whomever you are, if you start writing .... on here about how Nicky Hayden didn't deserve the 2006 championship I will ask the moderators to remove the thread. Its my post so my rules!!!!</u>
