Unfortunately JT has his work really cut out for him now-he`s got glandular fever and it looks like it will be with him in the early part of the season-MCN today.

I suffered from it when i was a kid, all your glands in ur body swell ( No rude comments please) hehehe, and u feel dog tired for most of the day still got me 3 months off school.

Doctor says it stays in ur system for life, I had a mild dose of it last year lasted a week, so that makes 2 times in 20 years.

I think your spot on as well. JT has unfortunately for us Brits, shot his bolt. Lets not foget the boy has had some intensive coaching over the years including a spell with Neil Tuxworth and the Castrol Honda 600. His head has gone I'm afraid....

Oh and glandular fever ain't gonna help.

It's a pity about JT, I would'nt say he's finished. He's got more in him and he might take a few more races. After all he's not an old bloke. But I can't see him taking the title again. Unless he pulls a Corser and waits the better part of a decade.
Here's a question for you brits. How come in motogp you've had guys like Shakey, Hodgson, McWilliams, and Ellison, no doubt some good riders, but none of them have managed to score a ride on a decent, competitive bike. Why is that?

Because there's no Brit sponsors in MotoGP and because they haven't succeeded in 250cc which is the best way to get a good MGP ride.

fair enough but there's no big US sponsors, and American Superbikers like Edwards and Hayden got good rides

True that there are no big American sponsors; however, the US is one of the biggest motorcycle markets in the world.

But wouldn't AMA be more popular over there? And Motocross and harleys and other un-motoGP motorcycling?

not quite understanding your question.

If I did then let me explain the US motorcycle market.
Fashion....Harley's with custom paint jobs that can't handle and make people think they are cool.
Cars that go around a circle...bike racing has too many turns and they are both left and right..

I will never understand why Rally, Formula 1 and Motorcycle racing aren't popular over here....
Soccer I can kinda understand not being popular...same reason Hockey struggles here. Not enough big plays and scoring.

it's a shame... but so true

Don't be so dissapointed about the soccer. Let's just say if, for example, NFL was as "Popular" as Soccer in Italy. You'd need an armed escort to get to your seat.
