Casey Stoner: Marc Marquez felt threatened by my Honda MotoGP role

It's kind of a funny situation here. All the people who regularly yell "Stoner the Moaner" are now put in a position to either agree with Stoner to have ammunition against Marquez, or disagree with Stoner to (indirectly) support Marquez, a person they've also been vehement with for a couple months now.

There's not much here to really argue about, though. Maybe Stoner is right...and so what? Marquez would have good reason to feel threatened by Stoner. From the point of view of Marquez (or any other rider for that matter), having Stoner in the paddock lowers their own chances of getting good points for the championship. Having Aoyama there.....not so much worry.
 
I was kinda disappointed to see Aoyama then. It was pretty obvious he was not gonna be doing anything remarkable.
 
He was exciting to watch when he was competing against the likes of Simoncelli for the last 250cc championship though. After he moved up, he was pretty "meh."
 
Well, Casey never has a problem expressing himself that's certain. I think he might be right though. Here's the problem. I suspect he'll get a chance to race the Ducati. If he gets blown out, HRC and MM will quickly come back and say "we told him he wasn't fast enough" and Casey will lose valuable stock. I like him, always been a big fan but certainly wish that he occasionally spoke less.

Honda got what they wanted against Aprilia
Then the class was killed....
Best race bikes ever.

Not many bigger Casey fans than me, but this is fairly hollow rhetoric unless he is going to actually race again, and even he at his peak might not have been able to make a Ducati competitive against an HRC bike in current motogp.

As with many of his previous bold statements, he may still have the virtue of actually being correct however as you say. It may have come from HRC rather than MM though, MM is obviously their future, Stoner having previously refused their best ever offer, and at the time they were looking to find a temporary replacement for Dani MM was already throwing the bike down the road over-riding against his existing competitors; they likely figured he didn't need any further encouragement to do so which Stoner being out there would doubtless have provided.

I think Stoner is absolutely correct -- to me it was apparent immediately when MM claimed he "had just heard it from his crew" about Stoner's offer to replace Pedrosa, during then Austin press conference. C'mon Marc...! Like Nakamoto wouldn't call you immediately? :)
 
It’s safe to say that Stoner can ride around bike handling issues better than anyone, so with the problems HRC had last year it would be a real threat to Mad Marcs claim to fame if Stoner beat him. While they all claim otherwise no racer wants to allow another worthy competitor to be on the track, or worse yet on the same bike. The more MM becomes a dynasty the more he starts sounding like #46 but the reality is when you are on top you want to stay there at all costs, even if means not allowing someone the chance to race who had a very good chance at beating you. That’s got to be extremely painful for many of you to read.

I can’t wait to see MM try to swap paint with Stoner and Rossi at the same time. Knowing how easy it is to get into his head MM may just end up on the ground more than he did last year.

You havent been watching Marc long enough then. If they want to fight Marc isn't scared to go down and take the whole lot with him. Marc could send Casey back into retirement with a single hot lap after the flag. Marc will Wilairot him into next week if he gets a chance.

Very true, but it's only a matter of time before Marc puts himself out of commission with that sort of behavior. He is ready and willing to crash with anyone because he hasn't had one that hurt him bad enough to end his season.

Didn't he blind himself once? What a typical guy, we were told if we .......... to much we will go blind. Dude went blind from going to fast and still doesn't care. I can respect that.

Not a chance bro. Keshav has made it very clear in the past that he hates masturbation and orgasms. I can only assume its because he is one of the poor ......s that can never have an orgasm.
