BSB Rd2 (Oulton Park)

Holy ....! Great race 2. Jesus H Christ, how the hell did Easton avoid that disaster!? Ur thoughts on Laverty? My opinion, major .... up re-entry. Stupid.

That track is a trip. Great racing, thought im not sure its suited to bikes, more like gokarts. But it was entertaining. I dont know much about BSB, so consider my opinion on par with Rob's logic, but seems to me Hopkins earned that win. Sure, the sprint praces was short after pace car, but yo, so was it for everybody else. Laverty overcooked same corner twice.

My only disappointment was not seeing a signature Hopkins wheele.

PETE, where are you?!?

Gotta love that German commentary:

"Joah, die is' hin." (Yup, that's broke.)

"Joah." (Yup)

"Die koennen sie zusammenkehren." (They can wipe that thing up.)

"Ja, da braeucht man einen grossen Besen..." (Yeah, you'd just need a big broom...)

Laverty faded in race one and couldn't stop making mistakes in the second. I'm not sure what the deal is. He made a handful of rookie mistakes in that second race the probably cost him a win, or at least a podium. He's got a lot of talent, though. Really nice guy, as well.

I remember seeing a very short shot of it at the end.

Thanks Gaz.

Wow, the second pic looks more like a Hopkins wheele than Hopkin himself. haha

Have to agree mate, I think Shakey (it is Shakey isn't it people?) may have out-Hoppered Hopper on this occasion

Now that I'm looking at this, that photo must've been taken during FP or QP because Hopkins and Kirkham were running a special livery for the races.

....or better still have a quick look at Pidg's '.... of the North' post

ty Arra

im backing some vids up and i couldn't find that documentary

checking my post the 1st links are dead so had to find it and grab it again

Superb racing from Oulton Park, beautiful circuit but it does look a little narrow sometimes (as do a lot of our tracks). That Hizzies chicane is a dreadful piece of track its such a shame. Great to see Hopper taking a win, he rode brilliantly. Easton got a bit of a raw deal but he needed to reassert himself and it was hopper who took the initiative. The top 6 in the standings will most likely be who goes to the show down barring any significant incidents for one of them... although i expect someone to have to make way for Brookes, who will eventually manage to stay on his bike (lucky escape!!).

What's your opinion of the 'showdown' Tom?

I think it's a real shame that the title is decided by so few rounds, when in my view consistency should be rewarded. Riders may favour the tracks at the end of the season, and injuries or unusual circumstances suddenly become far more significant. Having said that i crunched the numbers after last season and it made no significant difference to the outcome compared to the traditional system
