Laverty's high-sider on the exit of Clark was really scary, he got lucky Byrne and Hil avoided him...

Pete will not be happy about this:

American John Hopkins finished fifth ahead of Scotsman Stuart Easton.

2 Excellent races. Bummed Kiyo's engine seized in race 1. Brookes said to have a concussion? Nasty highside that was.

That Lowes family certainly has some talent in them btw.

Can't get over Ben Wilson elbow down out of clearways. He looked like Eboz of old hanging off that Kawasaki.

Many are tipping Tommy Hill for the title this year, but can't help feeling that it's going to be the HM Plant Honda show once again and Shakey's going to be unstoppable.

some BSB Pics ppl a flying visit i got to catch up on the races / result etc i want to miss spoilers

Hopkins also outbraked himself going into Druids and tipped over in the gravel rather than putting it in the wall trying to get by Easton in race one. Call it a draw.

Not sure if he was officially diagnosed with a concussion, but he was deemed unfit to race. They administer questions to every rider with suspected head injuries and Brookes' answers were too slow in coming. He said he would've raced if it was up to him.

Shakey says those bikes are really good in a point and shoot style (to be fair, most anything else is point in shoot when you've spent most of your career on a Ducati) so it'll be interesting to see how well Shakey and Kiyo go at some of the more stop-start circuits. Brands may suit the Yamahas well, I don't know, but Laverty and Hill were very quick all weekend long. And Hill has a hairline fracture somewhere in that elbow.

Love the pic of Kirkham in your second link.

Only saw the highlights but all 3 races were great as usual, especially BSS. Best bit for me though was looking through the results and seeing Conor Cummins is racing again already.

Didn't think we'd see him back anytime soon after what happened last year

Finally watched the races. Hopper was a bit disappointing, but the Crescent Suzuki isn't going to be quite as strong in BSB as a Yosh Suzuki would be in AMA competition. Hopper hasn't won a race since he left the AMA in 2001. I wonder if he even remembers how to win a race.

Shakey was the most entertaining, imo. He's 34 years old, and despite a few difficult years in WSBK, he still has the pace to run at the front. It will be a big deal if he somehow manages to take down the BSB title on a Honda this season.

In my opinion, the Suzuki isn't quite as good as the Honda or the Yamaha. Hopkins and Brookes were posting very similar times throughout the weekend and they were progressing with lap times at about the same pace. Each improving by about a tenth in each session while the Yamahas and Hondas were taking out 0.3 or 0.4 each session. They're both up against it this season, in my opinion. Should be good, as I think they're two of the most talented riders in the field.

Shakey's quick, no doubt. He looked faster than anyone at Brands. He's got the right package underneath him, no reason he can't win a title this season. Although he's got a helluva strong teammate. And Laverty and Hill will be there every round on those Swan Yamahas. Some good machinery in this series.
