Mick, Drill, cliche, a simple open design would is the solution. I posted a pic of one laster year after that Daytona crash vid i posted. The guard is not like a MX guard, the one designed for roadracing is a small piece extending from bar end slightly bent over lever. Not a complete loop over the handle bar.

Its been a long time coming...my only concern is a rider going straight over the front,trapping his hands and breaking his wrists in the guard(s).We`ll see.
