Biaggi News or Not?

Trying to imagine WSBK where the reigning champion doesn't get a ride. To me this seems incomprehensible yet its a possibility.

Time for Max to walk out with dignity. The urge to cast a withering comment directed at Bridgepoint is there, but it would seem that it wasn't all as healthy as I believed it to be. Walking with the #1 plate is cool though.

Apparently, the issue regarding Biaggi's employment is the #1 plate. The plate belongs to the rider, but it has great value to the manufacturer. If Aprilia want the #1 plate, Biaggi expects them to pay 7-digit sums of money. Same thing happened after the 2010 season. IIRC, Biaggi demanded one million euros up front for 2011, in addition to his salary guarantee for 2011, and the championship bonuses he was awarded in 2010. Similar negotiations are almost certainly underway, ATM.

The latest report I've read is that he may not retire, but he may sell himself and his #1 plate to another manufacturer. Don't know. Maybe Dorna will switch some sporting codes around to stop this kind of shenanigans in the future.

He is retiring to be with his wife and kids. He got offer from Aprilia with the same bike and pay..

I think if I won a championship I'd sting for a pay rise. Still going opt like this, on top, looking mean, they had a shirtless pic in the last few races, he is fit fast furious and .... YOU to the establishment. I like alliteration and Max is all style.

Wonder the infor coming from. As far as Max is concerned, he is retiring though got offers from Aprilia and Ducati, giving opportunities to younger riders. The most important he wants to spend more times with his kids and wife. His # 1 is not for sale and maybe the #3.
