I think this is horseshit. It's been stated definitively that Edwards will not
be taking Rossi's seat. I for one don't think Spies would take it if offered.
He's just really sorting out the bike he's on and making solid progress
and he'd be unable to combine points from the beginning of the season
with any of those he might collect on the Fiat bike. It would sure bring him
a lot of notoriety - but switching bikes mid-season wouldn't do much for
his chances of being rookie of the year. Unless Fiat-Yamaha know that
Rossi isn't coming (and naturally wouldn't want to say so while there are
still sales benefits from his presence) back and are looking at Spies as
the defacto replacement allowing him what in essence would be a season
of testing - I don't think that's going to happen. Ben on the Tek ....
bike - is still making Yamaha look pretty damned good in general.

Last night on Aussie tv Jerry Burgess said the most talked about person to take Rossi's seat was Edwards. He basically said Edwards was the best candidate. But he also said that the decision hadn't been made yet.
funny, i said edwards was the most likely and practital the other week and got flamed by some spies fanboys

Edwards is the easiest, least brain-fatiguing, obvious choice. He knows where all the little bits and parts are - so he's unlikely to do much damage beyond scratching the paint. But he shouldn't go. It'll only put more strain on his friendship with Ben, when Spies beats him by a country mile on a satellite bike.
no way..... edwards said he has absolutely no intrest in going back to wsbk..... he seems to think he has unfinished biz back in the ama.

Think any team has anywhere's enough money to hold his interest? He's too young for the Barcalounger but
I can't imagine he'd be all that happy being the big fish in the small pond after all this time riding amongst
"royalty".
Toby Moody and Julien Ryder had all the riders back up on stage on Saturday evening at Silverstone and Colin Edwards said it wasn't gonna happen due to, as he put it "Logistical problems" ....ie the Tech 3 boss Herve whatshisname has signed contracts with sponsors and part of the terms are that Spies and Edwards are the riders of the Tech 3 bikes for this season.
Actually I did see it coming, which is quite scary. I suggested it to the missus in the car on the way back from Silverstone!!
