Ben Spies Test lap times - Anyone have them?

Of course an 800cc bike producing 230HP will have no low end torque. You need to keep the engine singing at least about 10,000 for useful drive, the bore to stroke dimensions are very radical.

And, no-one was saying 300HP for the 800s, or even the 990s. Australian Motorcycle News mentioned that the Ducati has 195kW at the rear wheel(275HP).

Spies is yet another case explaining motogp technology has gone too far... no one even if they are the greatest rider on earth should get that close to the race times after only being on a bike a couple times and having no data of the circuit.

I don't know. I think superbike riders go more slowly compared to motogp riders than if there were no traction control. RLH said he was having trouble at Laguna convincing himself it was proper race technique to open the throttle mid-apex.

I'm sure Spies was having the same type of problems. I think if you get rid of TC all together Spies gets even closer to the MGP pace. Of course, Spies has pretty trick electros on the Yosh, probably far better than on Hayden's Kawi. Maybe Spies would only close the gap by one or two tenths?
