I'm sorry, as a fan of spies for a long time, i still think this is VERY wishful thinking. He hasn't even ridden the thing  yet, so thats a pretty strong prediction to make.  I hope I am proven wrong, god knows we need more at the front challenging anyway.

yep wishful thinking. but if these guys didnt believe in themselves, they wouldnt be there i suppose.

He has to believe it, all he has to do is beat Bradl, Bautista, Cal, Hayden, Dovi and any two of the top 4... Doesn't sound too hard right?

Actually, no.  If Hayden has an off day, that is perfectly possible.

Anyway, he was speaking the big coming out party for the brand, what was he suppose to say? Steps up to the mic: 'Uhm, hey guys, hello, I'm Ducati's new rider, what an over-the-top bonkers spectacular event this is, thanks for letting me be part of it.'  Q: Ok, so Ben, how do you think you will do next year on the bike we are all here having a big a$$ part about?  A: Yeah, well this bike has been complete shat the last few years, so I expect to be a mid-packer.'

I agree entirely, and actually think Bed might be able to snatch a podium in the coming season.  Also naturally as a competitor he will naturally believe it is possible, quite right too.

"I think the bike is better than what people have seen in the last two years."

Most people will read that and spontaneously

( With the possible exception of Mr. Hayden, who will no doubt be thinking: :....:  )

C'mon, Ben.  Do you think anyone takes this all-too corporate pre-season hype seriously?

"Confident....blah...progress...blah...blah....teamwork...blech!"

Ben Spies to win title this year on the Pramac missile. It will be 2006 all over again, he'll win 2 races and be consistent while the rest of the aliens crash out of all the races. Expect lots of Bautista and Bradley Smith "Missing the braking point" and punting all the aliens off course.

I assumed he meant he was going to ride the Ducati into the thing, not get awarded a certificate and a bottle of Fanta, or whatever it is this year ;)

Dovi speaks at Wrooom as well:

With regard to replacing Valentino Rossi he said: "Taking the place of Valentino is very special, but the fact that he has not done much with this bike helps."

Ouch! Go Dovi!

  I figured it out!  Dovi is Cookoo Bird.  How dare he slag off riders like that.  Ah-hahaha.

yeah podiums right.... i hope ducati stay true to their word and support the pramac team as a factory backed team, what they did last year (letting barbera and abraham ride the POS gp0 without ANY development on a bike that was deemed a mistake right from the first test) was just horrible.

was there any coherent development worth passing on in any case?

for starters they could have passed on the gp13x7-46.1 down to the satellite teams to gather more data instead of the useless gp0.

imagine yamaha giving tech3 a 2008 spec 800cc bike for the 2012 season.
