2 stroke 600-800 cc 3 to 8 cylinder direct injection

Enough electronics to launch a space shuttle

Low weight Low spinning mass Acceleration to flatten eyeballs

A modern day TZR750 of sorts

Rider would be anyone crazy enough to climb on the monsters

Edit - they would be cheaper to put on track than anything else

Take away the control tire and engine restriction.

Would probarbly still be Honda vs Yamaha but maybe more manufacturers will join,with different ideas.

That's an easy answer

Honda and Yamaha wouldn't show up because their big ....... babies that won't play if the rules arent written and controlled by them.

Suzuki wouldn't show cuz their a bunch of ....... quitters.

Kawasaki would show up with a KX 450 because that's the only thing they build that goes fast.

Ducati would show up with front end problems

New Zealand would have an entry called BJC motorsports that runs of ........ and is slow to the take

Stoner wouldn't show because the lack of rules would confine him.

Krop wouldnt show up because his Marquez Matters website got shut down once everyone realized that riders without favored equipment werent special

Oh and Ryan Villopoto would be world champion because he is truly an alien

Honda could just roll out the RC211V, apply everything they've learnt since then (fuel efficiency, electronics, etc), stick Marquez on it and build a bigger trophy cabinet.

Having tossed it over and over I keep coming back to massive horsepower being unbeatable.

If you can get to first corner, first. Then get out of each corner faster and to the next corner faster than anyone else then no matter how fast someone else is through the corner they could not get past. If they do get through on a corner then you would simply blast on by on the next straight section.

The only real requirement to maximise this bike would be rubber that can lay it down, a front end with feel and anti-dive to maximise braking and a rider with enough strength to hang on during acceleration and braking and the physical capability to get the bike turned on what would be some big section tyres.

What would a 1000cc 4 or 6 cylinder with some sort of forced induction be able to generate? 300? 400hp?

Surely the cost and capability to build such a bike would be low. It may not win on every track but it would win on enough to perhaps take home a championship. Maybe?

Tires would be key. You can have as much horsepower as you like, but the current bikes are already getting maximum acceleration out of the rear Bridgestones. Throwing another 100 hp won't make that much difference.

So, want a radically different series? Start with the tires...
