I'll be heading down the way again this year. My little bro is flying in from Minn for a couple weeks and we'll be riding down for the race on Sunday. Saturday's practice and qual is still up in the air for us, as he gets in on Friday.

If anyone is interested or needs advice, ask away. Meet up for a nice vino.

And remember, the Ecce .... is 30 km away in Borja! Rode my bike there this weekend with a couple friends and had our picture taken by it!

Excellent. Have fun buddy. Wish I could go and meet you. You must be one stable chap, as I've tried every which way to piss you off regarding Spanish riders. Hahaha. Aragon is an awesome track, probably my fav of the 6 Spanish rounds.

Nicky's hand is still screwed up, so I don't expect him to do well. But it will be interesting to see how Pedro bounces back (no pun) after he caused that crash at Misano.

I guess stable is one way to put it. But I see myself more as passionate about a sport, and not so much of any specific part of it. I just want to see a nice show. With bike racing, it can be sweet back and forth overtaking or a ride into the distance display. Once the race is done, the rest is nonsense...

Here in Zaragoza, I support Real Zaragoza and am a season ticket holder, but never too worked up over results, wouldn´t be too good for one´s health! Of course I rather them win, but I guess I first pay to see a good game. You won´t see me yelling much, throwing bottles, lighters or calling the ref´s mother all sorts of names...

tio i was in zaragoza last winter, but for a few days only, quite nice. was thinking of going to aragon this year but i ll be in valencia to combine it also with the final wrc round a little bit northern in tarragona

Post your pics here Baturro. Hopefully pees can stay on topic.

Respect is all that is asked. If you have nothing descent to contribute, .... off.

For the rest, enjoy the pictures! I´ll post more latter today. If anyone is interested in showing up in this part of the world, here is a glimps of things the average tourist will not see.

Fuzzy guy is my brother, pretty girl my lady.

Wonderful pictures Baturro, thanks for putting them all up. You can really see how low they get down on their sides as they corner from there way better than on tv.

Okay, two questions that may be stupid but I don't know the answers so I'm going to ask. What is the hump on the back of the racing leathers for? It is to do with aoredynamics or something else? Secondly, when they show the racing on tv why do they have a camera angle that shows the rider's backside so closely? Like I say, maybe they're stupid questions but if anyone can tell me I'd be grateful
<

the hump does a few things, depending on the race and the manufacturer.

  • []aerodynamics was the original reason

    []back protection

[]depending on the setting, Malaysia for exaple where it´s hot, they hold a water reservoir in there

[]and this is also the place where electronic sensors and airsuit deployment stuff is kept for the leathers that have such tecnology.

As for the camara, don´t know. They don´t have much choice on where to put a camara behind the rider except where it already is. Don´t like watching a tight ass in leathers?
<

Thanks for explaining that about the hump in the leathers. Seems it does a lot more than I first realised then.

A tight ass in leathers is only so appealing to anyone I assume, I have to say it doesn't exactly get my pulse racing though. It's hardly the most flattering place is it?

Oh and as for the pictures of the bulls, that's close enough for me. I know it's tradition and so on but I never need to get that close to a bulls horns thanks!

Hey I just noticed, in the picture with Spies where Crutchlow and Dovizioso are behind him, all you can see of him is one leg from the knee down!!! Makes you wonder how they stay on.

nice photos Baturro, thinking of adding Aragon on the to do list

I was watching a documentary the other day about racing from 60s-early 90s on youtube, up until the mid 70s no rider would ever put there knee down until Kenny Roberts Snr thought of doing it. Fast forward 30yrs and Rossi begins dangling a leg, although not the first to do it, and loads of riders are doing it.

I'm not certain about pro riders, but amateurs and track day riders have pads on the tank that offer some grip when they hold their leg or knee against it, combine that with 60º lean angles. I can't sit on anything with the foot pegs remotely set as far back, why you won't catch me on a sports bike

Great pics Baturro. I honestly think this is perhaps one if the top 3 circuits in the world. Its stunningly beautiful.

It really looks like the town goes all out. Thats one of many things i was impressed with Silverstone, the people were really hardcore into bikes. I felt i was among people who really understood my passion. It looks and sounds like i would really enjoy a GP in Spain. (If only i could get over the fact all Spaniards are arrogant. Just kidding, i know theyre not all arrogant
