Nice, I really hope he and Rea do well..

those hondas have been nowhere to be found or johnny is up front, and it's been a while since those were the force they can be in WSBK.. its interesting to me how well he did in the 250cc gp's right off the bat, but wasn't able to get it in MotoGP.. hmm..

Its too bad they couldn't find a place in GP for Aoyama. Its really difficult to gage where he really is in MotoGP considering he has a Honda that does not have the updates, gearbox, power, etc that the people we would be comparing him to have. I guess the series doesn't have enough Spaniards and Italians on Hondas, perhaps they need one more in Marquez. Such is the series with its lack of parity in machines, but I don't think he's all that different in talent than say Dovi. I think we will do well in Wsbk, and I wish him the best. It will be interesting to follow him against Rea, who I consider a very good rider.

It appears that Honda were very keen to sign Rea to a contract with themselves. It also appears that they will apply some focus, resource and funds to next years Blade in WSBK. If they can get that bike somewhere near and johnny can get a bit of consistency, Rea will put up a serious challenge. I think Rea is possibly the fastest guy in the series, but he needs to finish races. The guy looks red hot on the Honda with the new electronics package

While I think this is good move for him, I highly doubt he will light the WSBK grid on fire. I just don't think he has the talent level to win races there either. I just rate him on par as with other average ex-MotoGP riders recently who have made the move to WSBK, i.e. Nakano, Vermeulen, etc.

I tend to agree. There are a bunch of very fast guys on the grid used to competing in this series. This will be another learning curve for Hiroshi. That said, I think the Honda could be a very good bike to be on next year. And we have to remember that Aoyama was a 250cc world champion. You don't win that one too easily.
