Anthony West clinches 2008 Kawasaki MotoGP deal?

Well Kawasaki told the world that they would chose between WEst and DePuniet for a ride next season. They chose DePuniet and they made him and offer, but he left without warning. They were left with..................................Westy.

That's one way of looking at it, I guess. Here is how negotiations work. It’s a dialog of offers and counter offers. They were dealing with both of them. They offered Depuniet, but it seems their offer was to low. Hum, what might that signal? If you have ever been in business, sometimes you do things like this to distance yourself from the potential suitor. You give them an offer that they will refuse. Then you go about your business and deal with the suitor you really want. That is not default, it is called negotiation tactics.

If true i think they should have waited. Number of races to go to see how ant goes. Also more entertainment with pressure on ant to secure a ride...

However i would like a 3 bike team. So maybe ant is the "cost effective" third rider and monster eyes is to be announced soon.

Also, Shynia should not have been looking back to Kawasaki for 2 reasons;
- 'The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side'
<

- Also too much Japanese honor is at stake for Kawasaki and Nakano. Both would lose face by taking the other back, so it would make it very difficult in those all important Japanese circles.

Both of those reasons are ........, quite frankly.

First of all, we could say the same thing about Melandri, Hopkins, etc., right? The grass is always greener scenario is what fuels rider changes in the first place!!

Second, don't pretend to understand Japanese culture. Sounds like you've watched one too many samurai flicks. MotoGP rider/team relations don't work that way, I'm afraid.

I find it hard to believe that Nakano will be out of a job for 2008.
