Anthony West clinches 2008 Kawasaki MotoGP deal?

Well done for Ant keeping a seat, if this is true.

Poor ol' Shinya, he must have REALLY pissed off the Kwaka head honcho's when he left.

Like I said in the other thread...that isn't consistent with what Montiron is saying. He's talking about losing Nakano to Kawi and trying to get Dovisioso for next year.

So that would mean one of three things

1. There are going to be three Kawis on the grid next year. Hopkins/Nakano/West

2. Nakano is out of a job.

3. MCN is full of .....

Who knows?!

well if this is true i guess nakano is goin home. i supose the 3rd bike is still a possibility but i have doubts...

Good for West. He clearly deserved it and got this spot by his performance. That must be refreshing for him, the sport, and the world at large.

WTF? Why didn't antfan post this first?

Maybe he's speechless, or in this case, his hands are not available for the keyboard. Perhaps he's busy ejaculating. (Disclaimer-this portion of the post is meant to be funny, not malicious, for all you sensitive people out there).

Me too rog! I hope this is either some more MCN ........, or Kawi is going to run 3 bikes. Nakano deserves a ride.

i would hate it if shinya was remember for this season on a bike thats supposed to be a trolley, i hoped he would get on a ride like kawasaki and prove the doubters wrong.

Its the wrong move i think, Nakano knows the team better and was almost within striking distance the year before he stupidly left.

Good news for Ant (if its true) and i'm sure he wont be too bothered that he got the ride by default, i wouldn't be. It'll be interesting to see how far he can move forward and how he puts an entire season together. I'm still hoping there is a bike in the green garage for Nakano though.

Roge you should know better...lol...that the aussies are much better riders then the “kamikazes’...lol...but Shinya is a great guy and I suppose he just missed out!!...you know...”them the barckes”

Ive been out sinking piss in celebration!
<

.. Not really though.. been sinking piss, but didnt even know about this news.. However, even i know not to trust a thing MCN say.. So ill hold my celebrations until i hear it from a reputable source or an official statement..

I really hope its true though, id also hope Kawasaki run three bikes and Nakano gets a go, but im just happy as long as Ant's there first
<
He deserves it as much as anyone IMO.. Others are allowed to disagree, but from someone whose ridden every high and low (sadly lows have dominated) with Ant, I can safely say justice is done if this news comes to fruition..

Peace!

Goodonya Ant “Were Proud of YOU MATE!!!” ...

Good Luck for the 2008 season...as ”You will need it”!!!...on the Kawasaki!!!

Great news for Ant! Bad luck to Shinya but he must have pissed them off totally! I think this must be the first time 3 Aussies are on 3 different factory manufacturers! Friggin awesome!

Haha, your bias shines right through; "by default." Hey man, what would make you think he got this ride by "default"? Lets see. He is beating the "number 1" rider from the factory (on an abbreviated season no less) the factory boss says he is "impressed" with West's performances, Several other riders, and some good ones, wanted the second ride, but they turned down other prospective suiters and chose West instead. How can this be construed as gotten on board the Kawasaki by "default"?

I'd love to read your answer.

Default—an option that will automatically be selected if the users does not choose one.

Tom just cant be happy for a rider that i like, he's got it in for him

Anyway, Its his loss, Ant will do extremely well next year and thouroughly deserves his ride.. If its announced before Misano this weekend, look for him to put in one hell of a performance there too, will be like a pressure release and he won the WSS race there just a few months ago..

Well Kawasaki told the world that they would chose between WEst and DePuniet for a ride next season. They chose DePuniet and they made him and offer, but he left without warning. They were left with..................................Westy. Not a bad second choice obviously, i wouldn't be at all surprised if he betters DePuniet next season.

Don't get me wrong i am happy for Ant, hes done well this year and made a place in motogp his. At the end of the day thats all that matters. Anyway Antfan you better be looking forward to next year, Lorenzos coming up and we are really gonna have something to talk about....

Best damned decision any team has made since Ducati signed Stoner last year.

A West will ride well enough for other teams to start thinking how to get him in 2009.

Also, Shynia should not have been looking back to Kawasaki for 2 reasons;
- 'The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side'
<

- Also too much Japanese honor is at stake for Kawasaki and Nakano. Both would lose face by taking the other back, so it would make it very difficult in those all important Japanese circles.
