Random question here, but why does Alex de Angelis' Honda RCV not have a front air intake opening like the rest of the RCVs in the field to include his teammate's bike? Is he running an older model RCV than the field?

His is a satellite spec bike, Elias got the 'factory' engine with different airbox.

Yeah, he is, but don't read too much into it. Elias' factory bike is comprised of reject parts from the factory team. Elias is responsible for turning his Honda into a bike that is capable of scoring results.
Hmmm.........sounds like Hayden in 2006. Now that was an impressive campaign.

It' also giving away a grand in the revs department to the three factory bikes - not that Indy is a real power circuit mind you.
Where was this guy at the beginning of the year when alot of the bikes were closer in all areas of performance? I just don't get how he is decent all of a sudden when the job is on the line. I wonder if he will see a gp seat next season? If he makes a few more showings on the box he may get one.

It is a common thing from past Sattelite teams use previous year bike. Honda, Ducati..But not sure about Yamaha this year.
