Bennetts - Circuit of Wales aim to host MotoGP™ in 2015

Wednesday, 27 November 2013

Building work is due to commence on the ambitious Circuit of Wales development early in 2014 and according to Bennetts.co.uk the management team behind the project want to host MotoGP™ in 2015.

The first phase of construction at the 830 acre site will commence in

February with a view to having the circuit and its facilities completed

in time for homologation and testing by June of the following year.

Peter Thomas, CEO of Insight in Infrastructure Ltd, the delivery unit

for Heads of the Valleys Development Ltd and the company creating the

Circuit of Wales, told Bennetts: "We’ll need to go through the

homologation process and be ready at least three months prior to MotoGP.

Our programme allows us to be ready for September 2015."

I really hope it happens. It could be really good for the local economy  which is in dia need of something. I personally don't believe it will happen but if it does you have my word i will be there. Maybe even do a track day, i know #22 is dieing to race me in his MG.

I just hope they build a track with character and not another track that looks like it was stamped out with a cookie cutter.

.... off!!! I'll race you in the 250 but I've already told you the MG is not a track car.

For what its worth, while it would be great, I doubt it will come to much. They've been promising to redevelop the Pembrey circuit to MotoGP/FIA standards since the mid 90's and all that place got was a new pit garage, an' if you do build it the locals might wreck it ;)

Jum, you're only allowed in Wales if you can speak the lingo without Google translate so Cerri Grafi!

Jum, all you need to know about Wales is :

A. LL is pronounced CL

B. don't talk to the locals about Rugby or they will bore the .... out of you for hours

C. don't talk about Dolly the sheep or they will get jealous.

These rule apply once you go past the sign that says "CYMRU AM BYTH".

C. don't talk about Dolly the sheep or they will get jealous. Depends what part of Wales you go to. If you go to the valleys you'd get your head kicked in and your car torched before you even mentioned sheep ;)

These rule apply once you go past the sign that says "CYMRU AM BYTH". It actually says "Welcome to Wales - Croeso I Gymru.

He's kinda right Chops but let me as a Welshman explain. I think for people who find it hard to speak the language, then using CL to pronounce LL is the easiest way but its not strictly correct, I commend you for trying though. The easiest way I tell people to pronounce it is to stick your toungue on your upper mouth/pallette then breath out...the noise it makes is how "LL" is pronounced.

Crumlin eh? Surprised you got out alive. The welly boots are the walk through the bloodbaths without getting yer feet wet ;)

Again #22......... this is different, from circuit racing.  Circuit racing is more precise on your line, while Isle of Man is more about how close you are at pushing your luck and how big your balls are.  Different ball game as far as karting goes.  I'm the true master of racing, and I know the limit's edge and how each game differs.  I'll challenge you to either.

I have the "racing spirit"....... do you?  Hehehehe.

I do prefer circuit racing, because it's more 'polished' in comparison to Isle of Man TT racing.... which a redneck without a worry of reprucussions can push.  But respects to all racing.

The "Racing Spirit" buddy, many wish for..... few possessed.  :)
