Nice photos there, especially of my friend Stu's Division 2 kart. The dates for the 2010 season havent been confirmed yet (due to multiple classes, for example the 125 opens may be running at a different track and weekend to the 250's) but as soon as Ian sends me the confirmed list I will send it to you.

Also, if no friends or family come along I usual have a few spare entry tickets and paddock passes so you're welcome to have them if i'm racing at the event.
One confirmed event is the British GP in the middle of July at Cadwell Park, and I bloody hope to be there!

22, like the kart you have chosen to go with. What year is the CR motor or did I miss that? IMO you can't go wrong with Honda or Yamaha. In years past it seems Yamaha had more mid-range than Honda which in karting might be what your looking for...dunno never discussed the finer points of power delivery in a high performance kart like this. Anyways, good luck with the new kart, would like to hear how it's working out.

Not sure of the year yet, it really depends what is available though I think in terms of performance and reliability there is little between them. Yup i'll sure update you all.

Look what I got me over the weekend..

Its an 1986 frame but has a 1997 barrel induction motor in it which is about what I want. I bought it a bit unseen on fleabay but it was only £325 so I took a gamble. Was a bit worried when we got it home and found it had little compression, but it turns out the reeds were screwed. Upon stripping the motor its PRISTINE inside, better than a lot of my previous karting motors so for that money i'm chuffed!!

So i'm going to fit a new crank & rod, reeds (VForce2) and a piston along with mains and gaskets and its ready to rock, all I need now is a chassis.
If anyone in the UK wants a crosser frame, that one is now for sale!

nice find!

i scincerely hope you are going to ride it a few times before "losing" the mx chassis? its an essential
part of your biking education. the NS might look better etc but a 250'crosser will thrill like no other,(cept maybe a 500!) even if it is old and beat-up. hope she treats you well!

Good news everyone! Stripped the motor last week and its solid! I'm just replacing bits like the piston, rod etc as a matter of course. Man its built like a brick ......... compared to my old 125!

Looking at a chassis next week so fingers crossed i'll be up and running by February. Bad news Al but the bike wasnt running due to knackered cables etc so i didnt get to try it out. Probably for the best really as sitting on it I couldnt touch the floor!

In other news, the calender has been released for 2010

MSA British Superkart Championship (250 National)

April 18th - Silverstone New Stowe (Untimed, timed qualifier & two races)
May 15/16th - Pembrey (Untimed, timed qualifier & two races)

June 5th - Bishopscourt (Untimed, timed qualifier & two races + UK CUP)
July 17/18th - Cadwell Park (Untimed, timed qualifier & two races [GP Qualifying races])
July 31st/Aug 1st - Castle Combe (Untimed, timed qualifier & two races)
October 9/10th - Croft (Untimed, timed qualifier & two races)

Ones in bold are the events I should be competing in. Division 1 superkarts (250cc twins) have pretty much the same schedule as the 250 nationals. At the British GP at Cadwell Park all classes (125ICC, 125open, 210 National, 250 National/Division 2 & Division 1 Superkarts) will be racing.
