The '16 model is selling for $15,990 ride away at the moment.
Can't imagine many stumping up the extra 6.5k for the new model.

I love the new VVT engine, they seem to have got all the important things with this bike right. Things that I dislike are just superficial and on the base model really. The big daggy orange indicators from 1984, the front cowl on the base model without the LED strip lights looks really bland and cheap ... I dislike the dash also, I would have preferred an analogue tacho but if they are going to do a full digital display then at least do a full colour TFT like they have on the Yamaha, Ducati and the new Honda.
The big exhaust is ugly but i've been told that the catalyst (or most of it) is contained within the big can so fitting a slip on should get it breathing and sounding much better.

The lack of LED strip lighting on the front cowl of the base model also make it look rather dreary. It would have been a great idea if they used the LED strip lights on the front cowl to double as the indicators in countries that would allow it (looks better and would be easier/cheaper to assemble) I'm sure some aftermarket company will come up with something like that to retrofit.
The indicators in the mirrors was a great idea they used in the past, the only benefit of going away from them is that it makes taking the mirrors off for track use far easier.

I'm hearing ya mate, its pretty awesome value for money considering the price of the new model.
Imagine spending that extra $6k on the current model, tweaked engine, exhaust, brakes, awesome suspension, quick shifter and the rest.
