I think one of the reasons the forum is extra dead this offseason is there is really nothing up for debate or to speculate on. We pretty much know how next season is going to pan out at this point. No Rossi/Stoner changing factories, how will Marc do, false late season Pedrosa hope.

Going out on a limb:

1) Marc

2) Jorge

3)Pedro

4)Smith

5)Rossi

6)Pol

Smith shines this coming year, Rossi struggles more than ever finishes ahead of Pol on consistency and retires.

On the basis that defending a title is harder than winning one...

1. Lorenzo

2. Marquez

3. Pedrosa

4. Rossi

5. Bradl (needs a new contract and will therefore ride his arse off)

6. Bautista

I also think Lorenzo will go to HRC for 2015 whether Yamaha can give him the .... he needs to win or not.

You predict Lorenzo to win the title, then bolt to Honda.

I say Pedrosa wins the title, after offseason surgery to have his collarbones reinforced with titanium.

Pedrosa needs adamantium.

3) Bradl

4) Pedro

5) Rossi

6) Smith

7) Dovi

8) Espagaro

9) Crutchlow

10) Bautista (statistically he is due a crash strewn season)

I predict a boring(ish) season as far as the podium places are concerned.  From 4th place down it could be interesting

fully agree on the top5. maybe Smith/Espargaro will be in the mix for p6. but I'm not sure about whether Lorenzo will be leaving. I think he might fancy the greater possibilities, budget and tech-wise at HRC. but then, he's not having a too hard time controlling his (current) teammate, which takes away a lot of stress and distraction. I can't see him preferring being teamed up with MM. although, if he can boost his ego with another title this year he might go for it. big question mark though, should delay this discussion until the first half of the season is over. more in general, I agree with Garbin that I don't see a too exciting season ahead either.

It could happen. One of the reasons he fired Marcos Hirsch as his manager was Lorenzo felt the Yamaha/Honda bidding war wasn't handled well in 2012. His new dude (Albert Valera) won't make the same mistake. JL wants to get paid.

Also, going by the #1 plate jinx, as MM 's sticking to his #93, he just might keep the title..

If Bradl somehow finishes ahead of Pedro, I'd say that would be a very interesting season as far as the top 3 are concerned.

I think Bradl could/should be a podium regular - so yes, if he can get it together perhaps he could make the scrap for 3rd interesting.  Still think that Marquez and Lorenzo will account for all but 1 or 2 of the race wins next season

I hope he can fight for podiums-I've always liked him as a rider-but if he leapfrogs two factory riders in the standings, then we have a new superstar on our hands.

Not saying you're wrong, mind you, I just don't think it's likely. If it does happen though, the bidding war for Bradl's services in 2015 will be very entertaining.

You cant have 2 number 1 riders on one team. U nless something happens to Marquez that puts his career in danger, he is Honda's future and will be up for a new contract as well. Honda is not going to pay both of them 12-15 million a year, just aint going to happen. Yamaha will pay Jorge more than Honda will, and Dani will resign with Honda for 3-4 million or retire.

Does anyone REALLY give a .... about 4th on down.So the top 3 are predictable, who cares, its been that way in about 90% of all GP seasons. For the people who complained about the racing over the years, 2013 was anything but boring, and you have Marquez to thank for that. He has created action at the front by pushing Lorenzo and even Pedrosa to alter their way of thinking. In every one of his 6 wins, he made a pass  to win in the last 10 laps or so to go on to a win. He is only going to get better and better barring the unfortunate, prediction for 2014

 1  Marquez in dominating fashion

2 Pedrosa, dont forget, he was leading the championship before him and Lorenzo got hurt

  3 Lorenzo

  4 Rossi

  5678910, dont care

I may regret this, but... Pov why exactly do you not care about the racing/finishing order of anyone but the top runners?

For me it is just add interesting to see things like which Ducati rider is getting the most out of their bike, or how NGM Forward found something at the end of the season that catapulted Collie into chasing for best-of-the-CRT-class near the end of last season.

I personally think 4th to last will be VERY interesting this year... Duc soup, insider RCV1000RR, proddy Yam, Nicky, Collie, Laverty, Redding, Dov, Pol, Aleix, Cal, Bradders, Bautista, Bradl... This is the unknown...

Honda have never done the 1-2 thing, They always want the strongest possible team, hire the best riders they can get at the time and let them fight it out. If they get Lorenzo for 2015 it moves their chance of the riders championship from, say, 60% to 90% and costs 15m euro. Is that worth it to Honda? Maybe. Maybe not. Even talking to Lorenzo also helps them moderate Marquez's doubtless astronomic demands for his 2015-6 contract.

  1. []Pedrosa - Will stay Healthy and consistent, and finally start to get aggressive
[]Marquez - He will have a JLo 2013, and try to make up lost points in late 2014
[]JLo - Yamaha wont deliver the goods needed to take the fight to Honda
[]Rossi - He will win one or two, and be much closer but the Yamaha will let him down
[]Bradl - He just won't be up the task of consistent podiums or any wins
[]Cal - His looser style more aggressive style, and determination will work on the Duc
[]Smith - Yamaha will work well enough to keep him moving forward in class
[]Baustista - Last year on a Honda prototype
[]Dovi - Will ride as well as possible, and be thinking of 2015 on factory Yamaha
[]P.Esparago - Rookie of the year, and he will have typical rookie crashing year
[]Iannone - Will fight with Pol for 9th and 10th but the B- Team Duc wont be enough
[]Redding - Will beat customer Ducati, and he will end up top of the Open Class
[]C.Edwards - Experience and retirement at end of year will drive him
[]A.Espagaro - Open class Yamaha will be good, but  Open Hondas will beat him
[]N.Hayden - He will not fail to amuse with his lack of performance yet again.
[]Aoyama - Will be making his teammate look old and tired, but will still come up short
[]Hernandez - If he stays upright then 2014 will be okay....
[]Karel - Will beat Barbera Just.....as long as he stays healthy
[]Barbera - will be looking for Moto2 ride by July...
[]and the rest .... not worth mentioning....
