At Catalunya, they announced Alex Criville as the newest addition to the MotoGP Legends.
He was World Champion of 1999, though I suspect had Mick Doohan not suffered his injury and retired, Mick would have been the 1999...
For those of you that don't know of him, I thought it was worth educating you.
My dad once told me "Never meet your heroes" but in the case of Alex Zanardi I think that's a moot point.
He was an F1 driver who then had great success in the US CART series before an ill fated move back to F1...

The Hayden wining for Ducati thread got me thinking about titles being worth more than other and about greatness.....And I started looking up about official MotoGP Legend....

Some of these guys only won one title and received Legend status but so...
I guess it’s how you define the word LEGEND. I for one attribute the title ‘legend’ to a racer in GP as somebody who had a lasting impact, one who was a great of the sport whos presence is talked about well beyond their time as a racer, one who may or may not have won multiple championships...
British driving great Sir Stirling Moss has been awarded the FIA Gold Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution to motorsport.
