So my helmet is three and a half years old now and from everything I've read, it should be replaced every two to five years. My plans are to start gathering info now and be ready to get a new lid a year from now. Here's my question. What determines a helmet's shelf life? Is it regular wear...

I have a blue and silver NAVA FIBERNET Helmet that I purchased in 1983 or 1984. It has sat in a closet in it's bag since 1987 when I sold my bike. I heard that since this helmet was the first of it's kind, it was now a collectors item. Does anyone know if this true or where I can find out?

advice please ? who's are good - who's aren't ? goggles or visor or bollocks the whole thing and keep my usual AGV full face helmet ?
