Rossi forget about racing his competitors and just ride flat out lap after lap after lap. These days we see it often with Stoner and Pedrosa and it is lost on some people but I find it enthralling.

Agreed, if a single rider is "going for it" its always good to watch.

Jesus I found Silverstone '79 in full on youtube!! Gonna get me some lunch & watch this.

Donington 05 is another one of my favs.

2008 US Grand Prix (Laguna, not Indy)

2009 Catalan Grand Prix

2009 German Grand Prix

2009 British Grand Prix (last year was a great year)

2006 Portuguese Grand Prix

those are all i can think of that you should go watch. and maybe the 2008 Indy Grand Prix. wasn't necessarily a great race but near the end they were racing in the remnants of Hurricane Ike so you get some great shots of them racing down the track with the trees in the background bent double from the wind.

Thats one i will never forget, i had to ride home in hurricane like conditions that was spawning tornadoes and torrential rains.I never will forget the blown over bikes as i walked into the parking lot to get suited up and there stood my bike. For no particular reason, i had backed my bike into the parking space and it just so happened the wind was coming against the opposite side of the kick stand. Just about every bike with a cover was blown over. Going south from Indy to Louisville, the cross wind was so strong i rode at a right hand lean to go straight. .Once i got to Louisville and headed east to Lexington, it was the freakiest sensation having that kind of wind at your back. The bike felt like it had an extra 50 HP. 400 miles of craziness, thats why i will never forget Indy 2008

So many answers, but the one that always comes to the forefront in my memory is Eddie Lawson on the Cagiva at Hungary .His strategy was absolutely perfect.

Barcelona last year, and i was there!!

Wow, you guys picked some good ones. I don't know. There are so many that I can think of since I watch them over and over again. Really, too many to list, so I will ditto the ones you guys listed. And add the few where I had an epic party. Laguna with Rog and friends, and Indy with the FL contingent.

1988 Japan GP for Schwantz and 1998 Biaggi..... both won that race in their rookie year, oddly enough 10 years apart. No rookie has won his MotoGP debut race since.

2000 Welkom, South Africa. Can't believe no one has mentioned this one. Watching Garry Mccoy slide that 500 was a thing of beauty.

It wasn't actually Schwantz's debut race though was it? Just his first as a full time rider or somethig

This is a very good thread to find out which races are worth of serching and keeping.

If we dont mention the winners it will be a lot better.

I already have picked a few names from here and i hope to find them.

and i have deleted a lot of the good ones like PI 2000 and 2003 and a few other's when i hadn't empty space for them. but now i have a 1TB, which i want to keep every single race from now on and will try to find the bests of last years.

mine are: Welcom 2004, Donington 2000, Le mans 2003, Sachsenring 2003, 2006, 2009, Mugello, 2003,2004,2005,2006, Qatar 2007, Catalunia 2007, 2008, 2009,

Assen 2007, Laguna Seca and Indy 2008, PI 2009

all races where Gibernou and Rossi fight.

A lot of races in 2006 like Estoril and Sachsenring.

Edit:

I remembered a few more.

Japan 2001

Jerez 2005

Malaysia 2006

Motegi 2006

Istanbul 2006

Brno 2006

so many to choose from........ all the races at istanbul... ashame we don't have it anymore
<
estoril 06, sachsenring 06, mugello 06, phillip island 03, jerez 05...... just to damn many.

how come they don't race in instanbul anymore?

2006 is one of my favorite all time races. And I actually watched 2007 today. That track produced some of the best racing I have ever seen. The last section of corners, the "m", is one of the best overtaking spots I have ever witnessed.

finally saw 2007 catalunya...epic 2nd half of that race.. such amazing over taking moves from both guys. rossi attacking that quick right to left hairpins (iono the corner name haha)...stoner in the second part of those S's after the front straight.

mostly, rossi on the brakes and stoner on the straight.
