May sound weird to you, but I actually thought hard before deciding to retain Colin as my second rider. Yes I know that even if MotoGP is a sport, it is also business. Big business for that matter, and teams would not only want to win but also get the biggest possible profit for them.

But even in that light, I still considered that if I really am a team manager, I would want every staff on my team, especially the riders, to have the best possible working relationship among them. The Rossi-Edwards tandem really clicked. Besides, harmonious working relationship promotes better results, which would yield high profits for the team.

21 year old versions of Roberts Snr. and Mick Doohan on ZX-RRs with a bootload of cash, and watch HRC AND Rossi squirm

YES AND YES!!

i want to see a race of the legends ...
one race...
rossi vs doohan vs hailwood vs rainey vs schwantz (for a little fun)

rossi and edwards do really get on well but its got to be rossi and sheene,
richo r u saying roberts senior is better than rossi?

To be honest Rossi may not of won everything yet but look how many years he's got left...loads. I don't think there's any speculation to whether Rossi is the best rider the world has ever seen, he's just got to be. Agostini was very good too I hear, but he wasn't a Rossi.

So the team will be run by Flavio Briatorre? Only kidding Teo.

Full HRC support
Michelin tires
Red Bull sponsorship

1. Nicky Hayden
2. John Hopkins

I know they don't get along but I think Red Bull would be very happy to have both riders on a full Red Bull sponsored team and I think Hopkins could impress on a full factory supported Honda. I wish it wasn't an all American entry but John Hopkins is the guy who I feel could shine the most on a better bike.

It`s impossible to compare riders of diffrent eras, but I know for a fact Roberts was fast, and a hardcore ........ I`d like to think he`s better than Rossi, but there`s no way to tell

You can`t compare riders of different eras. There`s too many variables. To say Rossi is the best rider ever is certainly a fair comment, but it`s only an opinion. You can`t call it a fact because there`s no way to prove it. For example, Ago still looks the best on paper, but he would race in several classes each season, and sometimes he was the only rider on the grid with a factory bike. Roberts "only" took 3 titles, but to win the championship in his rookie year is a feat not even Rossi could emulate. Rossi is starting to mach Doohan`s records, but arguably, Rossi`s had it pretty sweet since he came up to the premier class, and still hasn`t broken Doohan`s race wins in a season record. Plus Doohan used to win races by 30 seconds. As for Rossi himself, he`s defiantely a talented motorcyle racer, and in the opinion of many experts (who are not valentiniboppers) he is the best ever, but even if you got all the legends in their prime to race on identical bikes, the result still wouldnt be accurate due to things like track knowlege and whoever has the most experience on whatever type of bike they`re racing. Long and short of it is, it`s impossible to say with absolute certainty who the best rider ever is.

Right on Skid. Everyone said it, on his day Schwantz was the fastest man on the planet. Says a lot for him being on an underdog of a bike compared to Rainey and Doohan. My uncle and I always wonder what would have happened if Schwantz formed the great relationship with Kenny Roberts and not Wayne Rainey. No disrespect to Rainey but I think the early 90s would have been a lot different.

Nah, go for:

Randy Mamola (sp?) and Michael Schumacher on a two-seater Ducati.

Ah sorry 'sir'.

Anyway, it's fun so wouldn't it fit in the Lounge anyway?

as i dont really know many of the older riders and couldnt really compare them anyway i wouldnt like to hazard a guess at who would be the best. but it would be cool if you could have a race with riders from different era's one day. maybe when cloning technology is that good they'll dig em up and get em racing again
