This is before I was watching WSBK, but it features two riders I have come to know and respect since I started (2004). It provides a great lead-up to what should become one of the most exciting WSBK events in recent history (since this race in 2002?) between Haga and Spies in Portimao. This 2002 race is the same way...coming down to the very last race to decide it all.

Honestly I can hardly wait to see the races. It's been quite a few years since a couple of riders have brought it down to the final race weekend. Should be explosive, and this is a fun retro warmup to it.

BTW: If you're ADD or time-constrained, skip to 5-8 and 6-8. Wow-wee. I can only hope it'll be this good this weekend.

Thanks Phorest. Arguably the best ending of a season of moto racing in recent history. The comeback by Edwards was astounding in itself, but to have that finish in such an exciting fashion made it one of the best. The similarities to this season between Haga and Spies are obvious. This weekend could make a nice bookend to a decade of WSBK racing.

As if I needed to get even more hyped up for the race! Holy ...., I think I might explode after seeing those vids.

Can't wait!

remember it well! true scream at the tv stuff! can't wait for sunday!!!

legends, the both of them.
my favourite sequence is Bayliss hopping off the kerb and chasing Edwards up the hill. that clip is burned into my brain permanently.

And we've had plenty of similar sequences this year too. Remember that three turn sequence between Spies and Rae?

This is why I scratch my head when I see there are such few people on this board who are self professed motorcycling fans only following GP. I don't understand it.

A total showdown weekend. Can't wait. Totally psyched.

Thanks for the video link. Great stuff. The after-race inteview
was a treat as well. The comradery between Edwards and Bayliss
was so wholly genuine. I expect it will be the same between Haga
and Spies who seem to really respect each other.
