Love the CE, but from that it does sound like his entire problem is fitness & probably always has been.

Very possible. You look at a guy like Spies, he clicks of laps like a metronome, especially in the last 3rd of a race while others are fading. That could also be the reason for his slow starts and strong finishes. MAYBE, he doesnt have the outright speed to stay with some of the top riders in the first 5-10 laps. His MO is actually the reverse of what you would expect from a rider on a customer bike. Normally, they can go fast at the very beginning, when the fresh rubber covers up the flaws of the bike, then fade quickly. . CE does seem to fade, not from just the race, but from the weekend. He will look good on Friday and Saturday, then be .... for the race. He might want to consider skipping warm up on Sunday to conserve his energy.

CE needs to get his concealed handgun license if he doesn't already have it, and then pack heat in his camelback during the race at Austin in 2012.

Hes spoken about this before. If i recall he basically said he tried getting in best shape ever and those were his "slowest" seasons.

Anyway, i know they r stringing us along cuz i cant wait till they ask him bout Rossi Ducati. I expect a favorable response as Edwards has always been very high on Vale. But i wonder what he'll say about the test times.

Well there is trying & there is doing, as far as I'm aware he's still a smoker (cigarette, not ....).

Well actually, Rossi is an admitted smoker; fact. (cigarettes for sure, .......speculative).

Do u own The Tornado, the Doctor and the Kentucky Kid? I think its this movie where he talks about his best fit years wer his worst. (I think it was that movie, or one of the superbike year end reviews, i get all these vids mixed up sometimes). He says the years he maintaint fair fitness, not extreme, and just had fun biking and karting, those wer his best years.

Yeah I've seen pics of Rossi having a crafty one, but the way I understood it Colin was a proper smoker but I don't really know. I do know that smoking seriously effects your ability to train from current personal experience.

Yep got The Tornado, Doctor & Kentucky Kid, great movie & I'm pretty sure you are right, it is in that where he says about fitness. I'll have to go & watch it again...any excuse
