A little over 2 weeks to the drop of the flag, im jonesing like a #$%&^%$#@@%^ for some Moto GP racing.

Predictions

1 Lorenzo = Track favors the Yamaha and Marquez will be a bit rusty. The whining about tires will have to wait till the next round

2 Pedrosa =  Will be right there, but in typical Dani fashion, will settle for the points

3 Marquez =  Will run a lonely race behind Lorenzo and Pedrosa, but comfortably ahead of Rossi

4 Rossi  =      This is his spot, will break record for the number of  4th place finishes

5 Bradl =

6 P Espargaro

7 Bautista

8 A Espargaro

I see this is being a year of big change. The open class is going to stir the pot a lot more than you think. They have a huge advantage. 4 liters more fuel and stickier rubber. And factory supported Ducati's in the class. This is going to be the year where Ducati starts winning again. The year where the new class is right there at the top. A lot of you don't think that open Yamaha is as big of a threat as it actually is. The fact that Aleix Espargaro, the guy who was beating up on the Ducati's with a bike with a huge power disadvantage last year, now has a bike that won races last year. But not only that, he has better tires than the factory teams will have. And more fuel. And a very respectable electronics package. This isn't going to be a year of Repsol Honda versus Factory Yamaha.

For Qatar?

Yeah, it will look something like this:

Lorenzo

Aleix has been testing a Factory spec Yamaha, what he races will be something else. The man to watch and take podiums is Pol.

My prediction for Qatar, a low grip circuit.

I'm still going for MM in Qatar as long as the leg is fixed, which I'm sure it will be, rusty or not he will be able to wring its neck as quick as anybody especially with a point to prove. About time Honda got another win in Qatar to, only 2 so far....

Im basing my prediction on the tires. The softer tires may not be better tires, just softer. No one has yet to show a race simulation on the soft tire, leading me to beleive they wont make race distance with performance to podium. They will start up towards the front, and run with the big boys for half the race then fade

My predictions are null and void since now nobody in open class will want to win/podium. Everyone will be fighting for last place now.

I think that Ducati and FGM will just change strategies, and go into the season thinking they have nine engines and 22.5 liters of fuel. I still expect to see Aleix fight for the podium, if the M1 he's riding can maintain that speed over race distance.

Now turns out Aleix will be contesting on the factory spec M1.2

I dreamt about the race last night (man I'm jonesing something bad) Rossi and Marquez battle at front, both riding to limits, eventually Rossi breaks him and wins by a few seconds, Marquez second, Pedrosa third. Don't know about the rest, just like the TV coverage, my dream only showed front runners.

I'll wait with predictions till Honda is done changing the rules. Before the raceweekend I hope.

My two cents:

2 predictions threads, the second started by Professor Dr. Pov. I'm sure he started this one to insure "proof" of something.  Pov had already responded to the first predictions thread too (he was actually the first person to do so) but I guess making redundant threads "proves" something in his mind.  Seems fitting since MotoWWF has 3 categories though in their infinite double speak have decided to fool people by just eliminating the name (not the actual parameters of the 3rd category itself, just the name of it).

It was started about a months before yours, seems to be missing now.  Just around the time a thread went missing in the Lounge.  Interesting.

I dont see Ducati winning at all this season, even with the "open" rules they are still off the pace of the factory bikes.  the Yamahas still have Ducatis number in that sub class.
