The MotoGP plot continues to twist and turn during the winter testing moratorium. First, rumor has it that Kawasaki is pulling out. Now it appears the Alice Ducati team is the next victim. Spanish publication AS reported that Italian telecommunications giant, Alice, is pulling its sponsorship of the satellite Pramac team. Pramac had already enlisted the services of two talented riders, 250cc racer Mika Kallio and Ducati tester Niccolo Canepa, for 2009. With the loss of Alice’s sponsorship, the team can only afford to run one rider this year and have opted to keep Kallio.

well wtf oh dear.Story Here

if any more rides are lost where will this leave Dorna and the likes of the BBC.etc that have just signed contracts to cover the pinnacle of bike racing that is MotoGp
surely the BBC etc wont be happy if this turns out to be just "another" bike racing series ?

where are Onde going to get there money from to run Canepa too ?

I don't know what's going to be the final result but i read this recently:

Seems like Pramac team needs a good sponsor anyway.I hope it works out.

If true then at least Alice picked the right rider to back in Kallio over the unproven test rider of Canepa.

Well, it doesn't look like we are going to lose any riders. There is just some confusion about in which Ducati team Canepa will ride and what will be the new main sponsor for Pramac.

I have to say that I was scared for a second, but judging by the articles, the situation isn't disastrous at all.

Yes,that is my toughts too.I'm kind of hope full to see what bothCanepa and Kallio can do,so i hope they won't be stopped from taking part in any scheduled tests to save money or something.

They should chase up Red Bull?

Red Bull wants to run the team, not merely sponsor it. This is why the much rumored Red Bull KR Team never made it out of the meeting room. I don't think Ducati is willing to give up control of the Pramac team.
