Were you entertained?

It left me dry

Not a fan.

If they're going to burn up tires, they should have heats like motocross.

Saturday heats would be nearly as big as Sunday's races. Plus it would be an equitable way to vary the grid.

If a heat draw is Spies, Haga, Fabrizio, Rea, Haslam, etc, etc. Some of them are going to end up at the back. Heats would be short, so it would be balls to the wall for 5 laps.

Pirelli could stop producing qualifiers.

It wasn't nearly as good as I thought it might be, though I like the idea of 3 sessions and only 2 qualifiers.

Maybe it'll grow on me eventually, but I did prefer the old Superpole as you got to see every rider, where in this format I didn't see a single lap by half of them.

I like the format. Its an improvement of the previous format. Also, in contrast to the MotoGP format, which is a practice session and 5 mins of qual. At least WSBK gets the practice out of the way by eliminating the slow grid filler, then concentrating on the last ones to eliminated eachother. What's not to like?

BTW, can your poll question be any more leading? Why don't you just put the two options as:

A.) Didn't "care" for it
B.) Didn't really "care" for it

I like the new format, it's the same as they use in BSB, it makes the qualifying session much more interesting. The first time i saw this system used was at Cadwell BSB last year and it was much better than watching the bikes just go out for one quali session.

My bad Jumkie, if made this poll come across a little biased. I'm just a spectator, but than again that is what WSB and all other forms of sports is for, to entertain you and me. Right?

I really do not see how the new format is better. If your at the track or watching it on some broadcast media, the old format was great. You were able to concentrate on one rider racing the clock. Getting to watch it televised or on the net, you could see the right/wrong lines, pinpoint breaking, and even shifting points of each rider. I enjoyed it almost as much as the racing last season.

WIth this new format the only positive I can see is that maybe the riders get more track time, even though everyone is on the track. I'm not sure if the teams are allowed to refreash the engines, so it may be better to qualify fearther back?

It did change things up abit! Didn't it?

I found it fairly dramatic and entertaining. Granted the coverage of certain riders could have been better as they were putting in their times but in general I liked it. The strategy of only having 2 quali sets and a potential 3 sessions was great, it was fun listening to the announcers speculate about which tires they felt certain riders were on as well as speculate myself. There was some great drama as well as the final seconds closed on a few sessions, to see if someone could pull a quick time and make it onto the next round. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing it live at Miller this Spring.
