This will be a surreal weekend of great memories, farewells, and paying respect.

If anyone is fortunate enough to speak to a member of the Hayden family, would they please mention the love, respect and condolences from the PS family worldwide.
Hope Nicky is getting a corner named after him, I'd like it to be the entire circuit thought like Marco got at Misano.
During his early Repsol days he owned the place anyway...

Saturday's WSBK race was good. We had real racing at the front. Despite his last collision, Chaz showed again how fast he really is, and that he knows Laguna much better than these other blokes. I was surprised how few people I met this last weekend knew that Davies had raced in the United States. I was very happy that he won. He's a nice person AND normal sized. :p

Chaz waited for the Nicky Hayden memorial flag at turn four to do the parade lap with the flag. It was very nice of him. Unfortunately, most of the press has been about Sunday rather than the "better" Saturday.

Sunday was not good. The new "reverse start", actually only hurt Davies and did nothing, again, to stop the other fast bikes/riders from walking away from the field. The race was another Kawasaki/Rea boring event.

AMA did slightly better this weekend for excitement. Although Rodger Lee Hayden almost made it epic with a win. The good news is that the racing was real, and no one gave Rodger a win because of his brother.

EDIT: Sorry, no pics this year. I rode and I am paranoid about bringing my real gear on a motorcycle. I don't do 'phone' shots, unless there is something REALLY special.

Got a great spot.
Notice wine in one hand, binoculars in other. Classy.

Some of the best times in my life I've spent them with Brits, so I fly the flags in their honor. Notice socks I'm wearing, it have flags from Wales, on account of me being part Welsh as well, you can tell from my skin color. Chaz totally got a kick out of it. (Aussies, maybe someday your flag can be flown too, it's not from lack of inviting yous.)

Good to see Jums but as an Aussie, I do hope that you also raised a glass or two for the travelling race junkie that is Ant West who made his US category debut that weekend with a few podium finishes and a couple of top 6 from memory.

Saw a good article on him and how he got there as well (knew he was going to be there but had trouble finding category but eventually found it).

I know that you appreciate people like West as you have defended him many times mate so hope you may have had a chance to catch him whilst there

So it's a great race when Davies gets out in front and wins but it's a boring race when Rea does it, how does that work.

Mainly because Chaz got screwed by winning the first race and had to start to far back. Rea never had to race Chaz so it was ..... That rule sucks.

Preaching to the choir mate. West is my boy. We're on a first name basis. I call him Ant, he calls me stalker.

YES! Chaz ran a 69 flag on victory lap. That's enuf to let him sleep with your daughter. (Assuming she's over 21.)

What Dub said. It's a Kwaker sausage fest. Can't give them a Mulligan then expect it to be an interesting race. Obviously you're a JRay fan. Here you go buddy.

There's a great story behind that second pic.
