Nurburgring. Last year,Haga dominated the weekend. Was it Haga,or was it the bike?

Haga will have a little more experience on the track than Spies, but not as much as some of the other tracks they have visited. The 4 cyl bikes went well there last year so im hoping for a huge weekend from Spies. He needs to get the points lead and see if Haga implodes under pressure.

+1

I was about to start the same thread. I can't wait for the action to get underway again. They took too long of a break. Haga sounds like he is almost fully fit, no word on Fabrizio. It's going to be a great weekend.

On a sour note, there is another 3 week break after this round, WTF??????????

Hard to find gripes with WSBK, but a 5 week layoff, followed by a 3 week one is piss poor planning.

I agree. WTF, one race in 8 weeks???? The only good thing is that Haga has had time to recover from two different operations to repair his arm. That's a .... ton of time under the knife. I'm hopeful Haga, Fabi and Spies can cleanly battle for the title..............with Haga winning of course!

Can`t wait meself,I`m loving that battle at the top ,more of the same next year and Moto2 as well ,we are spoilt.!!!

Man , I'm so fukin excited. I've waited 6 damn weeks for this weekend. I really do hope Haga is fully recovered and his arm doesn't act up on him at any point during the race or before the race. I'm quiet confident Haga can get 1st given he doesn't start hurting. I hope not. The close competition in SBK this year has really made me divert all my attention to it rather than MotoGP. With MotoGP, unless Rossi ..... up and falls off, the final result is pretty obvious. With Spies and Haga, it just keeps you on your toes. Two great riders. What a competition is it gonna be. I just fear Fab screwing Haga over in some way or another.

Yeah WSBK/MOTOGP this weekend.WSBK has been a battle all year & Cudos to Spies he's brought it to the plate as a rookie, great stuff.
i feel Haga might be a Mamola in his career. We'll see.

P.S. i bet they clash for tv coverage.

Haga back at full strength on a track he has done well at (double last year). Spies hungry to take over the championship lead. Looks to be an exciting weekend.

I've found WSBK this year to be much like last year. Some decent racing but with 3 to 5 laps to go there is never any doubt to who is the winner.

I can think of at least one last-lap "pass" off of the top of my head (when spies ran out of gas) and a few more times where there was at least mild uncertainty. The first race in aus had 2 passes in the last half lap, margin of victory 0.032.
Spies made a sweet last-lap pass for victory at assen.
Fabrizio and Haga had a last-lap battle in south africa
Rea barely won in San Marino
Biaggi sort of threatened at donnington before he ran low on fuel
Biaggi was there at the last race in brno, but spies was too strong in front.

That's 4-5 races with a pass or almost-pass for the lead on the last lap and another couple of relatively close ones.

There's been 20 races, so 4 or 5 is quite a small number. The racing has been decent and a few times brillant but overall it's been pretty predictable. Spies has been like James Stewart. If he doesn't crash than he wins almost every time.

A close race every other meeting isn't that small of a number, especially compared to the recent situation in GPs.

I wouldn't say 25% of the time constitutes "never".

free practise session 1 begins in 8 minutes. I can watch the timings on the website just like motogp. yeah?
