Kropo deflated my enthusiasm for the future of Nicky in this series. I still lament him taking the Honda route when Ducati were keen on continuing his factory ride into Wsbk.

"Senior executives inside HRC are said to have a very poor opinion of World Superbikes, viewing it as a waste of budget which they could be spending on MotoGP and Moto3." Kropo

What little faith I have in Honda to build a reasonable update to their Fossil-blade, and then mount a substantial support to race it in Wsbk has practically extinguished.

Prediction: Jrea, Sykes, Davies

VDM, NH top 10.

It's obvious Kawasaki racing intend to support their entry into Wsbk as thee premiere showcase, having given up entirely in GP. So basically I don't see this dynamic at all changing. Add to this HRC are struggling in MotoGP, so not only is it their priority, but by emergency and necessity it requires them to circle the wagons. Honda Wsbk might as well be dead in the water.

Don't you think Honda sold Nicky on the fact that they were going to give him an updated Honda at some point in order to sign him?

If so, do you feel they are just going to half ... a new bike, or just go back on what they promised him?

Thanks. It's in chinese?? So WSBK has been here for few years? I'll go watch old races on videopass.

I think Honda signed him for marketing by telling him a bunch of lies (or promises the people making them couldn't keep) exactly how they sold everyone on the Honda RCV-RS production racer.

If Honda produce a new bike they clearly will not support it as is needed to win at this level.

Consider, even if they made a new bike, nothing says new must mean better. Also, factories have to be seriously committed to the racing effort to make any bike win. Otherwise all the Kawasaki's would be over achieving. Look at GP and noticed the difference between M1s in the factory garage verses M1s in the Tech3 garage. At the start of the season these machines are often near identical. The difference? Besides the riders, here is where the real difference lies, Yamaha have an army of techs for every individual component, Tech3 share ONE tech for some of those components. Its worse the further you go down the line. If the satellite Hondas in GP have reduced technical support, the RCV-RS support was shambolic. Now, let's carry that over to Wsbk where Honda decidedly don't respect or care for the series. Have I painted a grim enough picture buddy? Pains me to say it, as there is no bigger NH fan, but he's .......

That sucks and suck for Nicky if you are correct.. He passed on a good Duc ride.

I am still hoping Honda sticks to their word and gives The Kentucky Kid a competitive bike next year. Might be a long shot, but a boy can dream.

Highsight, etc. But I can't blame the boy for staying another 2 years to switch from the GP Ducati, which at the times was an unmitigated mess (thanks Rossi) to a Honda machine when at the time an RCV was the weapon of choice. Remember, Honda won two titles during those seasons. It seemed like the smart money would be to ride a Honda, even if it was supposed to be a 'slightly' modified version, which they called the RCV-"RS", no less. Add to this it was supposed to be the project of the 'future' given the GP formula was going toward the spec ECU, with the intuitive promise that Honda was going to spend a lot of support in the form of R&D with Nicky given the reality that the championship would all be subject to the control Marelli hardware/software. All of that proved to be utterly bogus. In fact NH said the electronics were superior on his Fossil-blade. Let me put that statement into perspective. When the GP regulars tried the spec ECU they said it was a 10 year step back in time! That is what NH rode for 2 years and HRC didn't do .... about it.

The problem with Nicky is he's always been loyal to a fault.

Yea, saw that quote as well and knew Nick was ....... Like you said, I doubt they come up with much new next year, especially a world beater V4 everyone has been saying is coming.

Nicky strong in fp1. Had top spot till the last second. Finished 2nd
Yeah, very surprised.

Wilairot at the top with 15 to go. Now wouldn't that be a sensation if that kid could win his home race. That would be fantastic.

2015 was their first year there.

Look at the Suzuki in 2010. Lean Haslam had a legitimate shot at the title, but because Suzuki wouldnt do any development, he was mid pack by the season end.
