All the riders that races injured deserves respect and our appreciation. Trully herculean effort like frosty said...Rossi...was outstanding today ..if the race was longer he would be in a higher position...Marco..it was said he could't ride and he look to me like a steel man...and Loris...in obious pain ..struggled to finnish the race and got one point...

Hats off for all three riders

All of them did well, great effort just to get on the grid, but Rossi really shined. I wasn`t expecting that.

musta had aloooooooot of painkillers .... did anyone see how swollen his wrist was .... could barely fit it into his leathers.

as a big rossi fan i couldnt c him doing much, i watched his everymove in practice and quali and he was fuked but wot he did wow, marco did great also but he was quick from thursday onwards so u knew he has a pace and a quli spot but rossi well 18th on grid very slow and then he said the adrenalin kicked in with a bit of help from the painkillers i know..
i was just very surprised..

i wasn't surprised at all ... feck it is rossi after all
it'll take a date with a freight train to stop him from riding competitively

Rossi was so drugged up he prolly thought he was flying.Awesome effort thought furthermore proving how much of a champ he is.

yes all riders, considering their injuries, made a race of it,but did anyone notice how far rossi is behind the leader Hayden, now -46,that should be interesting at Donington,to see what he does to guido the dog this time. ?

Him, Marco and Loris are all Heroes just for getting back on the bike so soon let alone riding it the whole race.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (rossi 46 winner @ Jun 25 2006, 06:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>then he said the adrenalin kicked in

That explains it I reckon. in FP and QP he laps by himself, the only thing he`s got to concentrate on is going fast and the pain. I think the pain got the better of him, hence why he qualified last (At least he qualified, though) Then the race starts and he`s not just going fast around the track with sore hands anymore. The adrenalin of actually racing kicks in, and nothing else matters. Anyone whos ever played a bit of competitive sport while in some sort of pain or discomfort will know what I mean. The pain all but dissapears and all that matters is winning. Then again, having a bot of a sore foot while playing a game of basketball with your mates is nothing compared to competing in a world chamiponship race with practically broken wrists. Real effort, that.

After everything that Rossi and his crew have been through with the bike to finally get it sorted, then he gets two wins in a row and a pole position record, and now he's riding injured. You couldn't have predicted Rossi's season would be going like this. He showed a lot of determination at Assen.

Here's something to consider though: Rossi is now 46 points behind Hayden and there are nine rounds to go; if Rossi wins the remaining races and Hayden comes second in them, then Hayden will win the championship by one point. I don't think any rider has ever won the next nine races in a row.

I was in shock to see how well Rossi did. What a freakin guy. Marco, Loris and Vale are amazing riders and to see them passing other riders who are riding healthy just shows how good they truly are.

Great race..

Truly legendary rides from Rossi, Melandri and Capirossi. Judging from FP and QP I really didn't think Rossi and Capirossi would finish the race. Absolutely incredible for Rossi to come through to 8th. Brilliant. He will no doubt be a force at Donnington.

Have to agree that all three Italian riders put in a brilliant performance. My hero of the week award probably goes to Dr. Claudio Costa though!
It was obvious even from qualifying that Loris wasn't going to be doing much but Rossi's effort was truly something. And Macho did amazingly too...what with Rossi's injury we kind of forgot he rode in that race a mere 6 days after a good lot of us thought (for those awful few minutes until he moved) that he'd bought it in Barcellona!

By the same token, who`s ever come second in them all. Nicky is consistent, but I wouldn`t count on him making it through the year without at least 1 DNF. Rossi is still in the running, provided Hayden makes some mistakes. And guys as good and smart as Rossi can take advantage of guys like Hayden and make mistakes happen. My point is, Rossi will be back to full health soon and back at the front. Hayden has the points advantage, and that is a big advantage right now, but Rossi is still a better rider, and a master of mind games. Hayden said Rossi was toying with him at Catalunya, so if unless Hayden can get his head around the docs games, Rossi could still win this. It`s still going to be an amazing fight. And it can very easily go either way. If Hayden wants the title, he has to use everything he`s got to stay consistent, try and win a few, and keep Rossi out of his head. If Rossi wants to win he`s going to have to heal up quick, go for a swag of wins and consistently beating Hayden, and use all the tricks he learned last year bullying Sete to put Hayden in a submissive mental position so he can close that big points gap. But Rossi's mind games never work as well on riders he`s freindly with (Marco, Hayden, Sete before Qatar '04) as they do with guys he`s not too freindly with. (Biaggi, Sete after Qatar '04) Will be very intresting to see who wins out here. When everything`s factored in, it`s a very even match.
