Everyone here picks on him so much that I am starting to feel sorry for him. His expressionless little face makes my heart ache.

A new problem all together.

You forget or ignore that light riders have their own sets of problems. Watching Pedrosa and Stoner live at assen in the chicane were a specatacle. They almost went out several times as they tried to wrestle the bike soley through the steering as they had little to no weight to throw in. That made them lose the front time after time. We've seen similar problems for Biaggi in his 990 days, it's really not just to add weight so the bike unless they also put on some heavy machinery to move that weight as they go araound the track. With a minimum weight I bet the lightest riders would be hadicapt compared to those weighing in on the ideal weight. But I'm not ruling minimum weight out, allthough I think it's way more important to put it on the 250's. That would end the midget's from continously win that series and the problem would be solved, larger riders would win and larger riders moved up to motoGP.

I really wanna believe that being short and light weight leads to deficiencies in a rider's ability, but if it's true, why doesn't Pedrosa pack on 5 kg of muscle?

Being light, especially in a series with strict fuel regulations, is nearly mandatory imo. Besides Vale, are there any riders over 60 kg that have won a dry race in the 800 era?

We haven't exactly had a whole pile of dry race winners... Vale, Casey, Dani, Jorge. Other than Vale yes, they are all listed under 60kg.

Are you giving Vale a compliment

I also think that Loris wouldn't throw his teammate under the bus when he is testing for the company like Danyell did early this year. Plus "Diminutive Dani," thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think he and Whorehay should go have a baby together and see who's ego is the biggest when the thing grows up.
Well said,it wouldn' t matter to me if he was the tall guy and Hayden was the small one i wouldn't like him anyway.

I wouldn't know, but seriously, most regard his weight a disadvantage at braking too. I've also seen high speed S's where he miss the line at the exit on every dammned lap. That's where he can't afford to have the front loosing grip. Anything of what I saw in the chicane at Assen would be a disaster in a high speed transition.

Pedrosa woo'ing the ladies

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (#36 Fan @ Jul 25 2008, 03:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Pretty simple really.

It seems like he gets picked on more because he happens to be the shortest rider. So just imagine for a moment, would you seriously give him so much .... if wasn't the shortest rider?

I feel that a lot of people give Pedrosa a hard time because they are arseholes. I am unbiased about him my self but think that he is an excellent rider.

OK so he will never have the on screen charisma of Rossi or Edwards for example but none of you know him and the reality is that the riders live a very different life than we do.
people dont dislike him because he is short, they take the piss out of his hight because they dislike him. he aint the only short rider on the grid.

I wouldn't mind if the drivers wouldn't have to be so light-weight to be competetive, but I don't really know what would help it to be in balance.

About Pedrosa, I have never read any of his interviews or anything, so I don't exactly know how arrogant or whatever he is. He is a pretty good rider though. Height has nothing to do with how I see him.

if where not careful we could wend up with motogp being a midget series. i wonder how many fast skilled riders never got a foot in the door because they were big. the late Dave Jefferies had that problem.
at the moment the bike has a minimum weight. i think dorna should start looking at a rule where bike and rider are weighed as a unit. other sports like pro stock drag racing do it i think. if your heavy you can have a lighter bike but if your light you have to carry ballast. i dont say this because i think a smaller rider has a particular advantage but because i want to see talent on the grid in the future not midgets.

Height has no influence on how I view Pedrosa, and it shouldn't for anyone else for that matter.

It is a fact that most all Moto Gp riders are quite short. I don't believe there is one over 1,80...

Also, like in Motocross (Carmichael, Villopoto, Cairoli and many others are all short. Do people dislike them because of their height? I doubt it. In Formula 1, virtually all drivers are short, kind of like in Moto GP. Do people dislike them because of their height...don't think so.

In conclusion, IMO your question is pointless really...
