If it happens it happens, if not, he's still the GOAT. More intresting to me is if he doesn't take the Ducati ride and Honda have stated it will field Dovi, Pedro, and Stoner....so .......who takes the vacant factory Ducati seat?

No reason to speculate.....Rossi will be at Ducati next year. These guys all know who is going where and it absolutely effects the choices they make. Casey probably knew last year when Philip Morris was throwing money around the garage that he was leaving. Once the word was out and the whispers began, the players began lining up. Ducati will be Rossi/Hayden, Yamaha will be Lorenzo/Speez, Honda......well we already know that.

Lorenzo will win the championship in 2010 and 2011. I expect Rossi will need a season on the Ducati to make it his...

If Stoner can find grip on the Honda he'll prove formidable right out of the box.....if the suspension on the Honda proves challenging things could get sideways quick. It will also be interesting to see what HRC does in an effort to appease the 3 teams in terms of attention, money and setup. I suspect Pedrosa and Puig will push hard for the #1 billing but with a recent world champ in the paddock they'll have a hard time pressing their issues. I'm sure Casey has been promised a great deal of attention by HRC and the like, so he'll be expecting the world. I think he'll get it. Dovi will do well enough with whatever comes his way but I wonder how well Puig will handle the Stoner/Suppo closeness??

But what about Suzuki? Doesn't anyone care about who will be on Suzuki?
<

But seriously, good points Levi. It's going to be interesting who is going to be #1 at Honda. Dovi thought he could topple the Pedro-Puig regime but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Certainly Stoner made the move with some promise of being head dog.

No .... huh...we hardly even think of Suzuki as a "factory" team. They are so often beaten by non-factory teams and their seats are un-coveted...they'll find someone to ride I'm sure but they'll be where they have been, mid pack if they're lucky. Randy DP will be in the hunt for a better deal and I suspect Elias may also be back next year. Elias/DeP in blue next season...??

I didn't think it would be possible, but it sure is starting to look like it.

I think work began earlier last year to make it "his". The bike is well on its way to being Yamahaized.

Having a recent champ around never stopped Puig from sucking all the life out of a team before. Dorna is still interested in making GP a Spanish domain, one only need to look how they stack the field in all the classes. We are about to have a Spanish title holder in all three classes; its by design my friend. Make no mistake, Puig still holds the ear of Dorna, which despite what HRC may say publicly, still holds lots of weight at 'Repsol' Honda.

That's why I follow the thinking of those who speculate that a certain ex-Ducati guy is lining up

a Red Bull sponsorship for Stoner's bike. If Stoner is not in Repsol colors Puig won't really be

part of the equation as far as Casey's concerned.

I don't care... and voted so. When every thing shakes out and new/transitional displacement rules are solid we'll have something to talk about.

This really show the power of the newspaper, 23 people convinced without even a name to put a quote to.

Think of it all as a chess game. When you've been playing long enough against the same group

of opponents - and know the standard strategies, see what pieces are where on the board and

know there are but so many likely outcomes. It's not nearly so much the power of the press -

as it is the fun of speculating. Some people get their kicks betting on sports or playing the stockmarket,

while powersliders get caught up in the whole soap opera of riders switching teams, managers,

sponsors etc. So far I've never seen anyone correctly predict the finishing order of a MotoGP race here -

but people still do it - because it's fun, and obviously - a lot of us have too much time on our hands.

I think yes.

At least in Ducati Rossi will have a lot of excuses in case of loss. LOL

I voted yes.Mostly because i don't think yamaha is going to be the same without furuzawa or what's his name.

Anyway,I read somewhere that the founder and main figure at yamaha will not be there next year.

Perhaps some other changes too in the developement staff.

Rossi ofcourse would have full awareness of this.

Also, with the ducatideal he might get to drive F1 at least as a wildcard and that might put him in a good spot for the future.

In other words,if Rossi signs with Ducati it's because he can see the end of his career in MotoGP.He might win the championship 2011 who knows but i doubt he believes signing with Ducati will make him worldchampion many more times after that.

Any one else a little disappointed that this year isn't the knockdown drag out fight btw Rossi/Lorenzo/Stoner?

I for one looked upon this season with much anticipation. Now...eh..<shrug>

Here's to next year being the all out warthat I was hoping for.

As much as I love Ducati, Rossi and them together. I don't see Rossi taking the risk. He already has a upper hand on Lorenzo when it will come to the bump in cc's, Yam is a proven factory that he can work with, yamaha won't let him go, ducati needs more proven data for the 1000's, and most importantly Ducati will want younger blood who can adapt and develop........DOVI(being Italian) and SPIES!!! Hayden will take Ben's old seat.
