This Sunday was the last race of the AMA season. Spies said in the post race interview that this would be his last race in the States for a while. So this pretty much confirms he will be in WSBK, I'd say at Yamaha.

As to this idea that Edward and Spies would swap, I say people have wild imaginations. Edwards is staying in MotoGP at least for 09. I do think if Spies does well in WSBK that he will have a seat in MotoGP at Yamaha after that.

Suzuki is STUPID.

Suzuki is STUPID. (Worth saying again)

Can somebody tell me what Vermi and Capi are making.

But you could see 2X WSBK champion James Toseland going there ?
Spies aint that hot. Proof will be in the pudding when he switches marks and championships.
Yosumura suzuki was a very special bike with unbelievable trick electrics pack.

Uhm, yeah, like if he could get a wildcard on equal equipment on Suzuki and see how he does, right? Oh ...., that already happened. Remind me, it was a bit rainy, was he able to beat his teammates (one of which is a "rain specialist"?

Thats a load of bollocks, we all know about wet weather riding ! Chancers game Jumkie, look at west ! Hes ...., but put a bit of water down and he goes well.
As for spies his AMA suzuki is far superior to the others, excluding Mladin.
I hope spies comes to MotoGp and gets results, but I just dont think he will.
You americans are putting a lot of hope on this boy, hope he pulls though for you.
I heard Herron is boy to watch ?

^^^You mean like the Ducati that Stoner rode to a championship last year? I think Spies is probably better than most people think. I think Capi should stay and Vermi needs to go back to WSBK, however I do not think putting Spies on the factory Suzuki will be doing him any favors.

You said it yourself, proof is in the pudding. Spies put up, now you need to shut up. he is the real deal, maybe not Rossi level, but he is at least better than %50 of the grid. Best riders my ...

I hope he can keep it mentally together in WSBK.

^ Josh has potential, but we may never see that potential come to fruition because the owners of the racing series that still uses carbs has purchased AMA racing. Josh Herrin may never see the light of day. Spies may not be the messiah but I would wager he is better than more than half the current MotoGP grid. As it stands he will have to make his bones in WSBK.

God I hate that. The Suzuki’s were 1 & 2 in the championship. (Ben and Matt). An average of the team position showed the bike to be comprehensively good, right? Alternately they did have two exceptional riders. Both theories fit the evidence.

The Ducati as the dominant bike? One from 8 riders on it made it to the top 5 in the championship. Hmmmm, if this was science you just supported the “null hypothesis”. Apart from Casey I think there may have been a wet race win by Loris and a few podiums (Elias could get a podium on a K-Mart tricycle at contract time).

We’ll do the n-1 test (accounting for anomalous scores) and take Casey out of the equation and it says that Casey won on a bike that is basically equivalent to the Suzuki motogp bike or maybe the Kawasaki.

The Ducati autopilot bike theory has about as much empirical validity as the flat earth theory. You don’t have to like Casey but by .... he can ride what is otherwise an unrideable (unwinnable) bike.

Roo calm down, I'm pretty sure Ogunski meant that sarcastically.

The point being that Dion points to the bike as the reason why Stoner won but that theory has been shot down (except in the minds of a supply of crazy fans).

Anyway, Spies is not the second coming of Christ, but we bring him up because many across the pond don't give him his due. They point out to the Suzuki here in the AMA, well then lets point to the Suzuki in MotoGP. The one he rode around while beating his two regular teammates and knocking at the door of Stoner and Dovi while on a bad visor. That is something. But maybe that was just a fluke, right? Well he qualled and showed well in his two previous wildcards. First time ever in Donny qualling in top ten and at Laguna (a track very familar to Capi or Vermi who won their in WSBK), Spies finished in 8th (then went out to have his gut cut out on a medical emergency no less).

Let me tell you, I am NOT fan of Spies. You can look back at all my post, you will not read me saying I like or am a fan of his. I actually think he is a bit arrogant. But I can compare him to the others since he has been on the same track with similar equipment, and admit he did remarkably well.
