Why is this given publicity by CRASH?

Why would CRASH give this website any publicity? It seems absurd! We know many Spanish fans hate Hamilton by virtue of their cult-love for Alonso, but why would they write an entire article to give these fools notoriety. I mean, if it happens at the track, like last year's racist chants and banners in Spain's race, then its fair game to write about, but this article seems unjustified.

Also, this article covers the racism shown by Spanish fans at a 'football' game, what next, are they gonna talk about the racist gesture the Spanish basketball team did to show their disrespect in China..WTF, is this a motorsports website or did I stumble on Fox-sensational-news hour?

(Notwithstanding, I'm sure we will get Tom to side with the racists, as he did last year.)

it's the last race of the season. they need more drama.

journalists looking for a story, pretty standard. I don't think its really worthy of fuss, but some people like reading that kind of thing because it adds to the drama.

Agreed, it's purely to heighten interest.
It's a shame though, giving racists the oxygen of publicity, for the sake of a bit more media coverage.

The more drama is better for F1. More people will watch the racing and its bring more money to F1.

Yeah I appreciate that, but it's disappointing that no one stops to think 'maybe giving this publicity is a bad thing'.

there are times, when people comes to a point where they choose to give up their principles to put food on the table. they might have stopped and thought about it. but they have mouths to feed and they need to sell those papers.

this scenario might not be true for this one, but in any case, it's actually sad thinking about the state of journalism these days.

i think it's disgusting and i still think Alonzo is a despicable person for not condemning the fans who chanted raciest crap at lewis last year.
i expect a lot of these Spanish racists don't really understand raceizim as there father's and grandfathers sat out ww2.

I dunno, maybe its me, but I think y'all are missing the point. CRASH didn't name the website they merely reported its content and the racist attitude that exists amongst some (many posters, few posting repeatedly, who knows?) Spanish fans. This type of behavior needs to be addressed and exposing it to the larger public is a GOOD THING.

I do agree with Rog that Alonzo could have mitigated much of this by condemning it immediately.

I think I'll throw on the immortal Bob Marley and groove to "One Love". Hope my Spanish friends will do the same!
