Has anyone got any gossip on why the GP15 not ready? Is it chassis or engine related? Was something .... and they had to do a redesign?

As it takes a bike advantage to win a race in MotoGP I believe both Ducati Factory riders are capable of winning a race/s if the Ducati can deliver a 1-2% advantage on any given race weekend. I hope that the GP15 can deliver this at least once this year.

I believe they said nothing new until Sepang 2... I think they are on the same schedule as they previously stated.

Originally they were to be ready for Sepang 1. But that recently get pushed back to Sepang 2.

I doubt the Project Schedule would have had Sepang 2 as the date they were aiming at. I would have bet the date would have been well before S1 with the testing team doing several shake downs before revealing it to the public.

As such I am assuming something has gone wrong.

Both the articles below indicate that as of August 2014 the new bike was due to be released in Sepang in February, neither specify Sepang 1 or 2... The biggest delay was from initial schedule which called for release at Valencia, but we have known of that delay for 6-8 months. Gigi seems more intent on bringing it when its ready rather than quickly.

Ahhh, gotta luv it!!! PM me for some real-estate deals well you are at it guys!

I read somewhere they would remake the gearbox in order to be smaller, but it was in the beginning of last year.

Given Ducati seamless is not any better than Honda, maybe they decided to create a new from the scratch. That .... takes a lot of time.

Anyway, information is that the bike is 100% ready, just waiting the arrival of some parts for assembling the whole bike now in the beginnng of february.

this is not new news, reports that the GP15 would be delayed go back a few months. this bike has been in development for well over a year, ducati has a lot riding on this bike, and they need this bike to be a home run.

Damn ....... I thought this was some new Joke ..... you know ...

"Why is the new Ducati so late .................... because Valentino needed a grandpa nap!!"

Oh wait I forgot Vale doesn't ride the Duc anymore ....... and I'm supposed to suppress that ....... like it never happened.

Mental Anarchist sorry did not see this thread so just for you

I'm starting to think that GIGI knew the gp15 was always going to be very fast and kept it hidden away until the last safe moment so Honda and Yamaha could not throw the kitchen sink and budget at development to catch up.

wtf
It need time to build a brand new bike. GP15 is a completely new bike. They said that at sepang2 will be ready and they bring it at sepang2.
If they bring it for first for example at test at qatar or this weekend then we could say that gp15 were late.

After watching fp 3 at losail I'm thinking gigi is a genius with what he's done at ducati even with the 14.1/2 that are making some strong laps on soft rubber with far from the pick of the litter riders . Aprilia must be gutted imagian what he could of done with making his previous ideas from the rsv4 into a prototype for there gp team

I don't think Aprilia can really kick themselves for letting Gigi go. Aprilia just doesn't have the dedicated resources to be competitive that Ducati has, or else they would never have had to pull out of MotoGP in the first place.

I wish both manufacturers luck though. Love their bikes.
