So today we've had the news that Ducati has also approached Loris Capirossi, in addition to Pedrosa confirming that he's been approached.

Are they that down on Nicky's performance? I mean, he hasn't been on the podium every weekend, but I think he's been doing a commendable job of getting the Desmo to let another rider run it somewhere other than the back of the pack.

Today we've also seen Casey break his silence, saying that he'll be rested up and back for Estoril, as well as 2010.

So what gives? Why is Ducati running around to every available rider with their "checkbook out" (Nicky's words).

I think it is ........ that they approached Capirossi and is probably just a translation issue or ego issue for Loris.

I can't believe Suzuki gave him another year. I also can't believe his interview. He basically said "I don't care if the bike is crap and can't win as long as I am comfortable!" Now there is an attitude that belongs at the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. Imagine if Stoner or Hayden said that!!!! No way did Ducati approach Loris. He gave up when he went to Suzuki and is only in it because he needs to earn a bit more before retirement.

you didnt understand what loris meant.

I don't think so. I think he's still excited by the sport, that's the reason he's still racing. And to me he isn't that cocky as you describe him. He's also getting good results in this season, better than Vermuelen... so why criticise him?

Ducati's got an amazing rider, I mean Stoner, who's able to be there with - and sometimes ahead of - Rossi, Lorenzo and Pedrosa. Ducati's got all the rights to find a rider who can come close to that. And Capirossi showed he was really good on Ducati. That said, I don't know if the new is real or not.
Hayden's been able to reach top 5 with Ducati but that's not enough for a good rider. I hope he'll find a bike more suited to himself.

Why is Ducati so desperate? Well it's quite simple, they have a bunch of riders who can't even make it to the podium and 1 that can win, and the one that can win is not racing and they don't know when if ever we'll he be back to the winning level.

I think that's a good reason to be desperate!

yep - he dominated the season in 2007 when the duc was a whole stack better than anything else. 2008 it was still the fastest bike, but the playing field was leveller and the whining started. 2009 and the going is tough (he's still pushing me, mommy) and he needs a 3 race break aka 3 dns's worse than dnf's. Add those to the "normal" 1 or 2 dnf's that most of the top riders manage in a season and he got a 30 percent handicap - duc should be concerned & looking for a rider

You misunderstood what he was saying.

Anyone who says Hayden has failed or is doing poorly is ignorant. He is riding the most difficult bike on the grid and he has had sweet .... all time to test it. In previous seasons there is testing for days after many rounds and there is heaps of pre season testing. Hayden has not had this benefit. If he had of had the time like in previous sessions he would be on top of it by now. Capirossi developed the bike, tested it against 990's in 2006 and had a full testing schedule through out 2007. Heaven and earth were moved to adjust the bike and engine to suit him and he still was miles off Stoner. Give Hayden all that and then compare the two and I bet a different story would be written.

As far as comparing him to CV. Well it has been clear for sometime that Loris is the number one rider so unless Suzuki are different to every other team then I bet he is getting what he wants and CV is not. Lorenzo just threaten to go to Ducati so he could get equal equipment to the number one rider on that team so don't tell me it means nothing.

Its not that I don't like Loris it is just that I get sick of these guys who have achieved little hanging around year after year after year. I know I will get flamed but this is the luxury that Italian and Spanish riders have. CV is out because he has never had a good bike to prove himself on and he of course is not the right nationality. JT will be the same.

Not the same. Toesland had great bike and didn't do .... with it.

Yup. Plus, JT might keep a MotoGP ride just because of his passport.

Or,he said:I don't like that Livio Suppo guy very much. And besides,he probarbly thinks Suzuki is better to listen to his demands for the bike.A new project to develope to put it short.

I agree with your dissapointment in that he rather aims for a more comfortable seat with much less preassure, than probarbly more podiums on a faster bike.

I hope Haslam gets a ride somewhere instead of that primadonna.

Nope, here is the joke.

Ducati are desperate because they messed up the management of their human resources in such a silly way, since they fired Capirossi down to the recent masochistic negotiations with Lorenzo, that now heads will have to roll -- the tobacconists must be bloodthirsty

well here's some ignorance - Hayden no practice - just 10 races and 30 practise sessions - oh let's be nice and sooo correct - he hasn't failed or is doing badly JUST A lack of podiums - great rider for leading the middle field - oh yes hardest bike to ride - that to melandri

I'm not following your post, are you agreeing or disagreeing. I believe you stated once before English wasn't your first language. I'm just trying to understand your post not make fun of you in any way.

Cheers

Maybe because they are all most excellent riders.............

And dare i say it, probably better than Hayden?

Not an attack on Hayden though, because i think he's been progressing good.

hmmm its a sad thing when riders start performing when its kicking out time, they should use this sort of motivation when the season start's.
