Why does Suzuki suck?

We have had many threads about the light blue bikes and their race to the back of the pack. I think we need a comprehensive list of legitimate points, rants, gripes, and slanderous remarks. Please feel free to pile on.

1. Paul Denning and the British mentality that governs the team.No disrespect to the Brits, but I think Paul Denning is basically playing Alec Guiness' role in Bridge Over the River Kwai. It seems like Rizla take a great deal of pride in losing the right way. Some day someone will rescue the team and rebuild it to prominence, but today they will settle for being dignified prisoners of circumstance. The only problem is there are no guns in motogp, and no one is forcing them to assume the role of prisoners. They need to quit building the wooden bridge and get crackin' on a decent GP bike.

2. Spies. I think tempers/egos flared in the pit box at a few rounds in 2008. Spies is not part of the team for better and worse. By for "better and worse" I mean it can't get any worse than Suzuki for Ben, and it can't get any better than Spies for Suzuki.

3. Money

Lame but true.

4. Tires
<
Lame but also true. They don't run the new front tire well.

Money, money and some more money...
More money means more bikes on the grid, which in turn means more data, more feed back which in turn means better MotoGP bike.
Maybe even a little more factory support.

Same can be said for the green bikes. Except I'd go as far as saying More money than above and in dire need of factory support.

Because they're content being grid fillers. There doesn't seem to be a single person in that team with the will to do better. Everyone there is just cruisin'.

.........
Schwantz won the wc in '93 with Garry Taylor in charge and KRJR won the wc in '00 also with Taylor in charge.
Taylor is a Brit.

Am I wrong guys???

I don't think that they have a design ability problem. My view of it is that Suzuki is a vast and varied production company and not a focused racing company. They contract their racing out to teams and sponsor them. In MotoGP they ran for quite a while with out a sponsor and the sponsor they have now is probably only paying for the paint.

It is my belief that they are out of their element having to do everything for themselves. The only salvation is for them to bring Yoshimura in as their team management or someone like them. They need a highly established company with all the organization and a load of money to speed up the development cycle that is driven to win in MotoGP. Suzuki is obviously not going to build a successful race team on their own. Their business model is not like Ducati where they live to race, quite the opposite, they live to sell.

It is sad because everyone knows their potential, moneywise and design, but if they continue to have a motogp team it is just because their competitors do so not for the love of prototype racing. Someone else has to come in, see the potential in the project, and run it for Suzuki for them to be contenders. It isn't good enough for race fans obviously but it's seems to be all market demographics for them.

Very true. But even if they bring in a well established group like Yoshimura, they still likely would face the same problems Denning has been facing. The factory's sluggish response for new parts. If the factory isn't directly involved in a hands on way then I think Suzuki will continue on this path as they have for the past decade or so.

The teams riders are not the week links. Open your eyes or get out.

Although he didn't defend himself I don't think mumu was referring to just the riders, Traverser. He states, "There doesn't seem to be a single person in that team with the will to do better." He's saying the whole freakin' organisation are grid fillers. Nuf said.
