<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I watch it because I just love watching the bikes weave in and out of corners. I love the close racing, overtaking, the unification of body and machine coming together, overall Im just a fan of motocycling. I could care less about the technology, at the end of the day a bike is still just a bike and not an F1 car. So I feel the technology aspect of things is over-rated. Its also the thrill and danger of the sport, the down to earth community thats so lacking in a world of diving, cheating, overpaid footballers, obnoxious athlete and corporate bull crap. Its one of the only pure sports left IMO.
Two passions have been with me since childhood: (1970s!) Motorcycles and Music. Other interests have come and gone, but these two burn a hole in me every day. GP (Sorry I hate the term MotoGP) is the pinnacle of motorcycle technology and rider ability. From Sheene and Roberts through to Rossi, it has been a fascination of mine. Not just the gods, but the Mackenzies, the Abes, McElneas and all the other bit part players over the years.
The whole advancing technology, changes in riding styles, good guys and bad guys thing. Getting up close to GP machinery. (I remember cleaning a TZ750 in a motorcycle shop I worked in when I was 11!) The might of HRC and the pure engineering genious of MZ. Drawing No 7s and speedblocks on my jotters at school....Its all a buzz...It still is....
