I've seen a few posts here which suggest moto gp would be dull without Rossi, and to be honest, that is a stupid assumption. Yes he adds some flare to the race, but surely you can't watch it only for him?

I know which I voted for.

i voted The pinnacle of technology.
while i enjoy the rossi show ive followed gp for many years, probably before rossi new what a motorbike was.
i like prototype racing.

Because im in love with motor racing. And motoGP is the pinnacle. So i guess you could say because its the fastest riders on the fastest bikes.

for the crumpet I suppose.

the racing of course! but the technology is a close second.

ok, real answer...for the racing...

as i am an avid rider and crappy racer.

it amazes me what these guys can do on a bike.. in my eyes ALL these boys are Gods among Men...
on this DIRT BALL we call earth, there are only a handful of men that can be in MotoGP...it's THE most exclusive motorcycle club... the best... every other motor-sport is just that...a sport.

Moto GP can not be compared..it's at a level all it's own...

poetry!

I watch it because I hold their skill in awe. A motorbike racer can make a pretty good auto racer, but most auto racers would be absolute crap on a motorbike. After "steady" Eddie Lawson retired from Motogp he embarked on a short career in Cart-Fed-Ex racing open wheeled cars. He actually did very well and had a best result of third place. What stopped him lack of sponsorship. Motorbike racers rule!

I think one of the best feelings in the world, is to go around the corner on two wheels. If I can't ride, than any gp race will do. Views of the track and action are almost rivaled by motocross...well nope! Nothing beats gp motorcycle racing!

For the close racing mostly and the fact that the bikes look badass!
<

Plus it's a sport that is particulary dangerous and exclusive so the riders have that sort of "gladiator" persona that I think is cool..

Of course the tech is awsome too, but if I watched racing for the tech stuff only I could be watching Formula yawn too..

I chose technology because i think it is the gp status and prototype racing that seperates motogp from other series'. Exciting racing with good depth can be found elsewhere, but the best riders go to motogp because it is the pinnacle of technology.

Wow, we are not all arguing against each other… We must all be cry babies when it comes to “For the love of MotoGP”, aren’t we? I’m just joking, let me put it a bit more professional… Me, “The depth of racing” plus all the great stunt the riders pull out, wish I had a chance to try one of them bikes!

Because I'm addicted to speed and motorcycles. No matter who is on them as long as they go fast.

I didn't vote, none of the cadidates seemed right so I sat at home and got drunk instead. Wait, that was 2004... Probably a bad habit. Oops.

Anyways, MotoGP is the elite of motorcycle racing. There is not a series of more capable riders, mechanics and designers. Factories pour hundreds pf millions into research, development and the actual racing costs just so that they can say their bike is the best. The top riders from around the world graduate (if they are good enough) to MotoGP, it is the premiership. All other series are secondary no matter how good they are (remember folks, I'm a huge proponent of WSB and AMA).

MotoGP is the culmination of the best in the business. Simple as that.

I watch it because I just love watching the bikes weave in and out of corners. I love the close racing, overtaking, the unification of body and machine coming together, overall Im just a fan of motocycling. I could care less about the technology, at the end of the day a bike is still just a bike and not an F1 car. So I feel the technology aspect of things is over-rated. Its also the thrill and danger of the sport, the down to earth community thats so lacking in a world of diving, cheating, overpaid footballers, obnoxious athlete and corporate bull crap. Its one of the only pure sports left IMO.

Two passions have been with me since childhood: (1970s!) Motorcycles and Music. Other interests have come and gone, but these two burn a hole in me every day. GP (Sorry I hate the term MotoGP) is the pinnacle of motorcycle technology and rider ability. From Sheene and Roberts through to Rossi, it has been a fascination of mine. Not just the gods, but the Mackenzies, the Abes, McElneas and all the other bit part players over the years.

The whole advancing technology, changes in riding styles, good guys and bad guys thing. Getting up close to GP machinery. (I remember cleaning a TZ750 in a motorcycle shop I worked in when I was 11!) The might of HRC and the pure engineering genious of MZ. Drawing No 7s and speedblocks on my jotters at school....Its all a buzz...It still is....
