Seriously.
That is the Ugliest bike in the Paddock!
I Bought a CBR 1000 because it was styled on the RC 211V.
But this new thing looks like a Designer forgot which way was up
and down. The M1 is now the best looking bike out there.
The tiny duck tail is a joke and the massive rear tyre guard is
a bigger joke. The Japanese shouldn't design bikes, give it to the Italians.
They should just work on the Engines. Why don't they just cut the bike at the end of the seat, I say. Be gone with the duck tail.
I think The honda riders will do really well next year. Valentino and Loris will fly off the track from the tears in their eyes from laughter at the sight of that thing.
Come on you can't take that thing seriously, now can you?

the new honda = the new 800cc bike for hayden and pedrosa??

if that's the case (I'm not realy up to date with all the releases of new road bikes, so I'm not quite sure) I think your right. I noticed the look too and I must admit it looks a bit funny
<
but hey, at least pedrosa can fit in his seat now without any back-pillow-thingies

"beuty is in the eye of the beholder"

although i really don't care much for the new RC....kinda batman..

It looks great. The design of the rear is very important, that's all that a lot of guys will get to see of it.

Very true......Honda engineers come up with good stuff, mostly because they'll work for 10 cents a day with no bathroom breaks....still not sure I like the snowshovel rear hugger....

i think if they lost the stupid rear hugger it would look sweet. bet the air intakes in the front end up bigger as the season goes on.

Thanks Marijke

And I agree, it does look fairly silly.... but I doubt looks are their number one priority.

IR, is it possible that the body work on a motogp bike has to extend beyond the end of the rear tire by regulation. That would explain the kinda goofy hugger? Anyone else know?

true! if it goes like .... off a shovel i bet they wouldnt mind it being the ugliest bike on the grid... which by the looks of those pics on that dutch site the suzuki wins that title!

I don't see a problem. It has a unique, high-tech look that really screams "prototype."

As for the bodywork question: current rules state that the bodywork cannot extend past the rear wheel.

You do realise that this is more like what MotoGP bikes are going to look like in the future? Grand Prix racing ain't about what the bike looks like, it's about how it performs, and Honda are obviously paying attention to aerodynamics with this new bike. This is racing not miss world.

According to Ducati, Honda don't pay attention to aerodynamics and that is one of the downfalls of the RC211V.

i like it. granted - the tail section is a bit odd but other than that - i like it.

but

the yam is sooooooo much sweeter
