You mean like the change to 800 that was also all in favour of Rossi?

Reading through most of your posts it is quite clear you are an extremist so generally I disregard much of what you have to say.

On this point however, I dont think that rule change favoured any particuar rider....Honda are thought to be responsible for this rule change and might have believed it would be beneficial to their pint sized jockey.....that didnt really work out though did it.

The volume of rule changes over the past decade has seen a litany of failures - none seem to be implemented to improve the sport for the benefit of ALL contestants and It is clear to those who care to look that some riders have benefited more than others.

I hate blind haters

Me too!

& Should we apply that same logic to you, what would be the result?

That would be entirely up to you to decide and I really don't mind at all what you think of me.

However, please point me in the direction of an intelligent or insightful contribution that this poster has previously made and I will take it all back.

Blancpain Endurance Series

Monza: Round One

Action from the opening round of the series in Monza, Italy,

where the second season of the GT endurance racing competition got under way.

Valentino Rossi in the Kessel Racing No.46 Ferrari 458 Italia lit up the second session and much to the delight of the exuberant home fans topped the time sheets with a 1:48.962. He and co-driver Alessio Salucci (ITA) will start tomorrow’s race from 10th on the grid.

Rossi, choosing the Blancpain Endurance Series for his first competitive GT outing, is relishing being part of the Monza spectacular, dodging hordes of autograph hunters as he moves from Paddock to garage surrounded by an army of minders.

“In the future if I want to go racing it is better for me in a car than on a bike. I have done rallying but it is more about controlling the car on the slide on the gravel. In GT racing it is about racing lines, breaking and rhythm and I enjoy it a lot,” the nine-times motorcycle world champion said.

“I enjoy sprint races because I have more experience in that but the Blancpain is just right for me at three hours. It is between a sprint race and an endurance race. The field of cars is impressive and the driver line-up very strong.

“Being in the top 10 in qualifying is a great result and being under 1:49 is a good lap time at Monza. Tomorrow it will be important to get the rhythm – one lap is one lap but three hours is very different.”

If only he was as positive about racing the Ducati.

Sounds to me like he is racing the Ferrari for enjoyment and the Ducati for a pay cheque.

Bet you do, bet it's your worst nightmare. Just think of the escalation on here! ....... nuclear war man, charred corpses!

Au contraire mon friere! Like all real fans of the sport I have reveled in the witnessing of great battles between VR and Lorenzo and VR and Stoner. To my mind the battle between VR and Stoner at Laguna will be a legendary race always (even if he was out of control and dangerous and deserved to be penalized
<
)The lack of him and his skills up at the front of the pack (with no-one to take his place) has made the made for a less exciting race. From where I stand - VR's year in Ducati purgatory was enough and he should be released (after giving back all the money) from his contract so he ride a competitive bike while he's still relatively young and healthy. Regardless of my personal feeling on VR - he gives great entertainment value when he's on a competitive bike.

That 16.5 inch tire was first used and developed by McCoy. I think he then complained the compound he prefered was quickly taken away the following year when the other riders switched. Someone apparently used to follow him around. Haha good ole motogp polemics never ends ......................

Great article, McCoy was so nearly the next big thing. And I shamelessly agree with hi comments on 2 strokes!

It's a ..... being a Bopper these days. You guys have so much excessive misdirected anger that you're just striking out blindly at anything or anyone that comes within your limited sphere of awareness. Sucks being you (always has).

I'm sorry you have taken that the wrong way, I refer you to the "Barrys Stoner's pimp" thead in which I stated that the phrase ".... pump" was my phrase of the week. This means that on any given opportunity I will use said phrase for comedic effect, it is not necessarily meant as an insult, but as both a reference to my previous post & to inject some more surrealism into a thead that I find uncommonly surreal given some of the stated opinions. A reflection, if you will, of how I see the forum. Once again my humblest apologies that you took it as a direct insult, it was certainly not intended to be. You ....... worn out, sagging, delapidated, excrement stained, over used abortion aid of a .... pump, you.

^^^^ Boppers imitating their idol methinks.

Rossi chucks a spatty at Ducati ......... the boppers gotto chuck a spatty too.

You are a very naughty little boy Goatboy. All that naughty swearing, I'll have to go to church now!!

Get back to me if you ever want to discuss MotoGP... okay?

Yeah, it's a sign of the low regard I hold for the conversation.

Get back to me if you ever want to discuss MotoGP... okay?

It seems that MotoGP discussion is not what Powerslide is about these days. I am appalled at the list of threads currently available. I can not find any humour in any of it if that is what it is meant to be, not that I have read most of it.

Valentino Rossi has played down rumours he is considering walking away from Ducati in the wake of the scathing comments he made about his GP12 machine after the Qatar Grand Prix.

The Italian endured a dismal opening weekend at Losail on the way to a lowly tenth place finish at the chequered flag, the former champion venting his frustration in post-race comments by declaring 'the problems with the bike haven't changed, and neither have my requests. It's unrideable, and it doesn't make much difference what track we are on.”

Such comments have raised speculation that Rossi is considering leaving Ducati, but the man himself has now moved to quell such rumours, even if he reiterates his unhappiness with the current situation.

Speaking after receiving the infamous Tapiro d'Oro, a prize handed out to Italian celebrities who have endured 'a week to forget', Rossi insists he will continue to work on finding a solution.

"This is one of the most deserving of these prizes given history,” Rossi told Italian television station Canale 5, who gave him the dubious 'accolade'. “I am very 'attapirato' [I have a long face] because I am not competitive. I cannot ride at 100 per cent, while the others are stronger. I want to win and I suffer when we are so far behind.

"I will stay with Ducati. We will do everything we can to make Rossi-Ducati work. We'll try for every race and never give up.”
