I voted Rossi............purley because he is class and the most excisting rider to watch.

I'm more of a fan of the sport as a whole, rather than gunning for one rider.

Ben.

rossi is the king with everythink u need to win, speed, guts, knows how to win and when to overtake and sit bak, but saying that hopper is great talent , but i ask how long is he gunna stay with suzuki? they r not doing him any good at present.. with suzuki dominating lots of other racing why cant suzuki cut it in gp?

Hopkins just signed what I believe is a 2 year deal after last season, Suzuki must be promising vast improvements because it was heavily rumored that Hopkins would sign with Ducati for '05. I mean Suzuki showed progress but I don't know why exactly he stuck around with them. As far as why they can't build a good GP bike you've got me. They build arguably the best road bikes in the world but they just can't figure the GSV-R out. Unlucky.

i voted Edwards because, hes not Rossi.

Hes an amazing talent and will be champion, i think, after Rossi has gone.

I also followed Colins career through Superbikes.

I too followed Colin's career in the WSB ranks and am a fan of his. However I don't think he'll be a MotoGP World Champion. He possesses the talent however I think he got in about three years too late. Edwards is still and unbelievable rider but I think he peaked in 2002 when he won every race from Laguna Seca race 2 to the end of the season to wrestle the championship from Troy Bayliss. Had Edwards left WSB after his 2000 crown or even earlier I think he may have developed in time to hit his prime in GPs rather than WSB. I hope I am wrong about this all but I just think 2002 was the year he had everything going for him and you don't get many seasons like those.

Fair comment Ooost.

I knew you might have something to say about old Colin cos your from the US.

I just think we still have'nt seen the best from 'the Tornado.

Did u say youve been to Laguna, or your going? Lucky Son of !!! lol

Ron lets hope you're right and we haven't seen the last from the Texas Tornado. Yes, I have been to Laguna Seca twice before in 2001 and 2003 and I will be there this year for the Red Bull USGP. I am from Minnesota so I don't get to make it there every year so I have to settle for tracks like Brainerd and Road America, however Road America is an unbelievable track so if you get the chance check it out online or watch the AMA races. Along with John Hopkins and Nicky Hayden my third favorite rider is Ben Bostrom. If you'll remember in 2001 Ben went on that tear of 5 race wins in a row and he did the double at Laguna. He had a terrible start in race 1 after starting from pole and falling to 6th he made up ground using his aggressive line into the corkscrew. I must say, those two races were the most exciting and memorable moments of motorcylce racing I have ever attended. Hopefully Hopkins and Hayden can make some more memories for me in July.

Bostrom was amazing!!

One of the best guys to watch on a bike in the world, a demon at Laguna, amazing agressive style,

That 996 just used to fishtail at the back AND the front!!!

Not so sure if that style would work on a MotoGP bike tho?

Its also a pity to see him on an uncompetitive bike in WSB.

He absolutely owns Laguna Seca. I can't think of a single rider who has a better history there. You could argue Corser or Haga or Gobert but none have had the success Ben has had. The name Bostrom is synonomous with Laguna Seca. Even little brother Eric goes very well there. I think the Honda is a fair weapon, Vermeulen has won on it but I think it is the team and tires Ben is adjusting to. The team was a rush to put together, they were still in the midst of building the second bike at Qatar. Once they finish developing the parts and the bike it should be more of a competetive package. And anyone who knows Ben knows that he needs tremendous confidence in the tires to have faith in them to really go fast. Ben seems to only have that confidence in Dunlop (Remember in 2000 he blamed majority of his struggles on the Michelins). If he gets that confidence in the Pirellis he is going to be a tough man to stop. There is a lot of talent in the series at the moment, but I truly believe when Ben gets confident there isn't a faster man on that grid. When Ben got hot in 2001 there were only two men that could beat him all season, Colin Edwards and Troy Bayliss. Look where they are now.

Very true about the tyres, he was a different man on Dunlops.

Just a pity he wont be going to Laguna this year.

Yes it is, but I have heard the organizers of WSB are in talks with American tracks about a round to be added late this year (doubtful) and for 2006. Laguna Seca is one of them. I have also heard Road American which gets me excited although I am sure there are lots of tracks with their name in the hat.

I have a question for marbles: you named as your favorite rider Jens Voigt & Alexandre Vinokourov, but they are cyclists!they did the 'tour de france'.. so, for you, who are your favorite motorriders???

Well I'm a great cyclist fan and they are riders so they seem to fit the bill. True not motocyclists, plus I tend to think they are a tougher bunch than the motocyclists.

I wanted to put a whole lot more in the fav's but it wouldn't let me. I can change it if you wish.

I'm a true blue Rossi fan oh with Nitro Nori thrown in there too. I do like Sete too but only for the fact he is the closest to running down Rossi this year.

Cheers 46marijke69

o no you don't have to change it for me!I was just wondering who your favorite rider was... you're probably right about the cyclist, alltough both sports are requiring huge conditions.

Great you're also an nori fan, I have to admit, in first I didn't even know who that was
