Irrespective whether anyone mentioned is currently retired, or is still racing professionally, who are currently

your 3 favorite Moto GP riders and please separately say why, for each fave rider named.

Lorenzo - When Toby Moody mentioned him on the Saturday of his first GP in 02 i started to pay attention and have supported him ever since that day. To have watched the whole journey and see how he's changed has been very enjoyable, i never would have thought he'd come this far way back when Dani was winning his 125cc title

Rossi - We all know the score with him, i may actually find the success of other riders a more exciting prospect race by race in the short term, it is impossible not to appreciate Rossi in the big picture and it'd be dishonest of me to play down his role in my interest in motogp back in 98.

Stoner - Just because since i've been watching GP racing nobody has looked more spectacular on a bike compared to his competition.

I've only been watching GP racing about 12 years so it'd be hard for me to pick riders from years gone by as favorites as i wasn't there to appreciate their significance as it unfolded, but of the old timers i find Spencer, Saarinen and Doohan particularly fascinating so they'd be my favorites of previous eras.

Current Riders:

1. Nicky Hayden

2. see above

3. see above

Lorenzo: The dudes the Whole package Hard working, Talented, Entertaining, Tuff as nails and doesn't mind Scrapping for the win

Nicky: The Boy Just won't quit he always finds a way to get up there, too bad it's not enough to Win races

Spies: He has the potential of kicking ... once he gets the factory ride, though i doubt we will ever see a Lorenzo/Rossi type of celebration once he wins a race

Lorenzo...the next great one, reminds me of the saying "No guts - No glory", he's all guts

Dovi.....Talented yet very quiet

Pedrosa...Talented rider

For me it's four

1st Casey Stoner-Talent and speed.

2nd Nicky Hayden-Quality(he seems to need longer time to ajust to changes, but when he does....)

3rd Loris Capirossi-Quality(I'm almost on my way giving up on him.He is on the wrong bike)

4th Mika Kallio-Grit(He has come to moto GP from simply riding fast, not helped much by sponsors or such)

Rossi...Just look at what he has accomplished in his career. (Titles, wins, podiums, consecutive races, and the other racers raising their performance to battle him)

Hayden...Very hard worker, even when the chips are down.

Rainey...Awesome racer....against Schwantz we got close hard racing, and his attitude after his accident was great having no regrets!!

1- Rossi for many things like his consistency in so many years, battles, and mostly his overtakes.

2- Stoner for his sheer pace and his calm personality.

3- Lorenzo for his overtakes, and how he reacted to being Rossi's team mate and his performance.

and the rider's on my waiting list are: Pedrosa, Dovi, Spies, ... and any other rider who shows a good form and consistency.

1) Rossi - It takes something special to be at the top of your game for so long. His racecraft and ability to pull off crazy overtakes is second to none. He is the benchmark and will be for quite some time!

2) Spies/Hayden - I think he's 1 of the few WSB riders thats actually gonna succeed in GP's. Hayden because of how hard he works and his will to succeed, he aint no Melandri!

3) Stoner - When he's on it he looks banana's! A lot of people slag him and i agree he can be a bit of a ... but hey, so can you!

I Read the first post wrong, Ill add my 3 favorite retiered riders!

1. The Great Wayne Rainey: 3 championships on 500 2 strokes plus he was born and raised about 10 miles up the road (local Hero)

2. Mick Doohan: Strip club owning, Broken leg riding, Multiple time World champion, Brilliant Business man, Enough said

3. Kenny Roberts Sr.: He paved the way for a lot of great American riders,he's the God father of American Grand Prix Racers

I'm around the same age as Stoner, Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Spies but for some reason that whole Mamola Rainey Lawson schwantz doohan generation seems like the toughest and most talented of all time!

  1. []Jorge Lorenzo[]Nicky Hayden[]DePuniet (Dude is wicked fast - Put him on an M1)/Dovisioso[]Rossi - The man is a legend
